You put in your claims all bass-ackwards. You want to put claims in groups with the same drop, so you get one player per drop. Your correct claim lists should've been this: 4. Mitchell Boggs $28 drop Mike Minor 4a. Antonio Bastardo $27 drop Mike Minor 5. Antonio Bastardo $27 drop Jason Vargas That's...

Rule Changes For 2011
What was the motivation behind this rule chang? I hope this doesnt move the contest towards full time friday pitcher moves next year. With the friday hitter moves you have already strayed a bit away from a true weekly roto game. The overwhelming number of pitchers who had their last start or last 2 s...

Auction League Satellite
When they open up, you could probably setup a free ESPN private league and run the auction on there. Then when it's over, send Greg the results and they could probably have the software guys setup a league from that. Just an idea, don't want to step on NFBC's toes here if there's a problem with that...

The divide by 14 works, but a better way is to find the average AB that all the draft worthy hitters will amass, then multiple that by 14. Then take each player's AB divided by the 14-player AB total. The number should be somewhere near 7000-7200.

I took an average and standard deviation of the 2nd-14th place team in each category, across a random 10 Main Leagues from last year, so my numbers are a little different than what you came up with. I eliminated the high/low value from each category in each league. I used: .268, 74.1, 17.1, 70.8 & 1...

I had already done that, but didn't want to go that far into detail, because it honestly doesn't matter much which way you do it. Just to let you know what I mean, the top overall guy (Pujols) has SGPs of 3.45, 2.74, 2.45, 2.31, & 0.20 for a total of 11.16 in my rankings. Where Crawford gets 6.65 in...

I had never heard of it until I saw this guys post, I just went and looked it up the other day. But it caught my interest and I threw it on my spreadsheet to see how it compared to my previous rankings. All-in-all they were similar to the metrics I had put together myself. I did use it for AVG, ERA ...

SGP = Standings Gain Points It's a method of Value Based Ranking where you give each player points based on the amount of the theoretical "Gain" from the addition of the players stats to your team. For example, to gain one RBI point in the average NFBC Main league last year, it took about 16 RBI's. ...

The NFSC is only running games for Baseball and Football and what appears to be a small unofficial Basketball game through the message board. As far as playing those other games for pay-to-play leagues, finding draft formats with overall prizes is very difficult, even for Baseball and Football -- WC...

12-Team League = Ridiculous Totals
Been playing CDM games for a while, play pretty much every game over there, but focus on Football, Baseball & Golf mainly (despise their Basketball format, but I get suckered into a team or two every year and end up quitting before December hits usually). Had mixed success over there, finished 2nd o...

What does it take to win Online Championship?
Some goofball drafted 6 pitchers in the first 8 rounds of this draft, including Lincecum at #5 overall -- he went Lincecum, Upton, B.Roberts, Peavy, Haren, Nathan, Mariano, Nolasco to start. So the hitting is a little inflated and the pitching on the other teams is diluted a bit. If the pitching can...

That most recent team posted is pretty solid, but the previous two are dime-a-dozen rosters, nothing special at all in the 12-teamers.

Main Event /Online Championship Combined structure
Should be something like the Percentage of Points earned.
So if you get 85% of the Main Event points and 80% of the Online points, you'd have a score of 82.5% ((85+80)/2). You could even choose to weigh the Main Event more if you want.
