Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday

Why didn't the direct deposits go out first? :?: I thought the whole idea behind choosing the direct deposit format was so that we would get paid faster than those who chose to be paid by check. Now we are told that Greg will try to move direct deposits to the front of the line  .That sure sou...

Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday

I guess that I am a little late to this thread but just want to throw in my 2 cents here. With all due respect to Tom and Greg there has been one delay story after another. Going back to mid October when the direct deposits were due by October 15 we have been told checks would be out and direct depo...

Re: Direct Deposit Forms Are Due Oct. 15

I have to say that i am a little disappointed with all the delays in getting prize money sent out  We keep on getting new dates for money to be sent out but these dates keep getting pushed back later and later. I am usually a very patient guy but as the famous quote from the movie Jerry Maguir...

Glenn, Even as a lifelong Yankee fan I am happy to see the Mets make the World Series. And I am especially happy for you my friend since you are a classy gentleman who has been loyal to his team through the years. Enjoy Daniel Murphy doing his best Lou Gehrig imitation! Your team may have the best p...

Greg,
Any further update as to when those of us who filled out direct deposit forms can expect to get paid?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Venting misery...

Sat Chris Young and Wilmer Flores this period. Why??? Fair warning...I'm tired of Gattis and his .109 and 21 K's I'm sitting him. He'll go off this weekend. Cold players always go off as soon as you sit them on your bench. It is an unwritten rule of fantasy baseball  . Personally, I resisted ...

Re: Please talk me off a DFS ledge

I'm confused as to how a $2 entry into a contest with 100 people in it can award a $10,000 first prize. He entered a 50-50 contest and then "thought" he copied and entered the $10,000 contest. Later he found out he never confirmed the second contest. All he won was his 50-50 game. Ouch. Exactly... ...

Re: Miguel Castro

Yeah, I said that in another thread when he was named closer, but it didn't stop me from bidding aggressively in my Benoit leagues. My problem is that managers (in all professions) should strive to put their employees in a position to succeed. Makes everyone happier in the long run. Well Gibbons di...

So now I hate catchers as well as closers  .Maybe we could just use dummy placeholders like we do in my AL-only and NL-only leagues and punt catching completely  .

Re: Betancourt to close in COL?

Well that didn't last very long. Adam Ottavino has now been named as new closer. So much for the reign of Betancourt as COL closer  .Maybe Weiss finally recognized that he was the most skilled RP in that 'pen.

Toronto would be better off being managed by an actual Gibbon. http://seancrane.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Gibbon23.jpg Nice photo. Remembered seeing that species on an old episode of PBS Nature series. Yes TOR Mgr. has made some very questionable moves with his relievers. That bein...

Re: Best Wishes For Tom Kessenich Today

I have endured back pain myself back in the late 1970's. Actually had to be hospitalized and put in traction for 5 days :( . Eventually got past it with many hours of physical therapy. Wish you a speedy recovery and return back to good health in a timely fashion.

Betancourt to close in COL?

Rockies MGR. Walt Weiss has " temporarily" removed LaTroy Hawkins from closer role after 2 blown saves and 5 ER in 2.3 IP. He has indicated that any saves in the near future would go to Rafael Betancourt :o , who did not pitch in 2014, instead of the expected closer -in-waiting Adam Ottavino :!: . A...

At the rate that players are dropping we will need to fill our rosters with AAA guys pretty soon  . Looks the overall winner will be the team with 23 healthy bodies on their roster :o !

Re: Cecil out as Jays closer

That is a ridiculously quick hook. Makes you wonder how much leash Gibbons will give a 20 year old who has never pitched above A ball before this year. I would not be going all in on Miguel Castro to be the closer long term. Might be prudent to stash Cecil if on your roster until this sorts itself ...

Re: Cecil out as Jays closer

I watched the TOR-NYY game last night and I must say that I have to fault Gibbons as much as Cecil for blowing that game. Gibbons brings Cecil into a 3-1 game hoping to get a 6 out save! :o Those situations rarely work out well. So, Cecil uncorks a wild pitch to make it 3-2 and with runners now on s...

Greg, Thx for your partnership with FanDuel.com. It was nice to be able to save a C-note off the Main Event entry fee and to be able to play for a free entry into next year's event. It is aggressive marketing like this that will keep the NFBC at the top of the fantasy baseball world for many years t...

I read this when getting up this morning... 'Latos also struggled this spring in Grapefruit League play, yielding 18 hits, six walks, and 12 earned runs across 15 1/3 innings (or four starts). The final line of his profile in the 2015 Rotoworld Baseball Draft Guide read like this: “He should only b...

Nolasco that is. He is consistently dreadful. Before the 2010 season, I had a buddy telling me how good Ricky Nolasco was. When I tried to discuss Ricky's lack of success, I was told, "You've got to look at his peripherals." I responded, when Ricky's ERA is 5.06, I can't get to his peripherals. I s...
