Re: Somewhat political post, non baseball
In what other investigation by the FBI and Department of Justice, is the husband of the defendant allowed to have a secret private meeting with the Attorney General leading the case? The fix is on.

Re: Somewhat political post, non baseball
I think this "somewhat political post" was meant to be a political post. :o I think it's gotten the exact type of responses that was expected during this election season. Not sure how it makes anyone feel better about baseball -- is there anything more draining, more disappointing, more embarrassin...

Re: Somewhat political post, non baseball
The big difference is, there was a massive cover up of epic proportions, which if the administration would have dealt with it honestly and swiftly, these people would not have died. This is just stupid. Even the highly partisan Republican report on Benghazi doesn't allege this. http://www.breitbart...

I guess the press should stick to pushing Republican causes. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/republicans-benghazi-goose-chase-comes-up-empty/2016/06/28/b70addfc-3d5c-11e6-84e8-1580c7db5275_story.html "During the George W. Re: Looking Ahead To NFBC Cutline In 2017
I like scoring the way it is. No need for change in my opinion. This is what makes this contest unique and yet still in line with our mindset of roto scoring. I think expanding the rosters each FAAB period by 5 spots was too much. There were teams that I was trying to add 12-15 new players. I am sur...

Re: Free speech be damned --- Curt Schilling fired
So greeny, u are saying ZIRP does not cause asset bubbles??? U are delusional. No wonder this country is going to hell in a hand basket  Sorry, but I disagree that low interest rates are the cause of asset bubbles. There are many causes of asset bubbles and many causes of lower rates. In many ...

Re: Free speech be damned --- Curt Schilling fired
ZERP (Zero Interest Rate Policy) causes companies/people to do things that they would otherwise not do because they are, at their core, uneconomic. ZIRP causes bbbbbbbbubbles in: 1. ASSETS. think your house is worth what is says on Zillow, etc? Nope that's the price with ZIRP. Once rates go back up...

Re: Free speech be damned --- Curt Schilling fired
Low rates are not a bad thing, if it is making purchasing a home more affordable. Don't tell that to anyone that bought in '07 and '08. Affordability based on income is already poor at current median prices, if we keep pulling forward demand with lower rates and higher prices it will end ...

Re: Free speech be damned --- Curt Schilling fired
As for the markets, we had elevated cash levels heading into this and I'm in no hurry to bargain-hunt. For clients we bought nothing today, not even tempted. Normally a down 600 day has me bargain-hunting, but today I saw nothing but some nice short-lived flip trades off the opening lows. On the ot...

There definitely is a parallel in the Brexit vote and the Donald Trump campaign. Anti-political sediment is obviously more serious than anyone thought in the UK and the same might be said for the US. If you look at the actual Brexit vote, London voted 60/40 to stay in the EU. That says a lot. I thin...

Re: Things we don't see in the box score ...
The catalyst for this thread are the rotoworld-type commentaries like "this guy twirled a gem", or "this guy got pounded", etc, knowing that a lot of times those comments are coming from someone that just glanced at a box score ..... when in reality when you watch games rather than just box scores ...

Re: Things we don't see in the box score ...
For the record, I would not say no one cares. I care. I did not know he pitched well and got thumbed by some bad breaks. I do not have him rostered so he isn't a pitcher I follow but in a home league, maybe I would consider trading for a guy who via a few bad breaks has numbers that looks worse tha...

Re: Quirks and Oddities in Our Management
Great write up Dan! My issue is, as many of you might be aware, I am a die hard Mets fan. If one of my pitchers is facing the Mets, I concede that I don't want the win, but would want a low scoring game obviously. Last year's world series was the most difficult for me as a fantasy player and Mets fa...

Re: MLB is a joke
Interesting takes by everyone. I actually think both sides are correct. I think Syndegaard did intentionally throw the pitch behind Utley on purpose, BUT it was nowhere near him, did not even come close to hitting him and, because MLB Umpires never eject in that situation, this should have been a s...

Re: MLB is a joke
There were no warnings before the game or the series. The umpires interviewed after the game admitted as much. Never before have i seen a player ejected for a purpose pitch that didn't hit a batter, without warning, however lame the pitch appeared to be. Syndergaard is a smart pitcher. He didn't wan...

Re: MLB is a joke
Utley's slide was hard nosed baseball in a playoff game. His intent was not to injure. If the situation were reversed a Mets player would have made the exact same slide. MLB changed the rule regarding sliding into 2nd, directly because of the Utley slide. You dont know his intent and your comments,...

Re: MLB is a joke
Yup. Makes complete sense that the ump throws out Noah in a 0-0 game for not even coming close to hitting Utley and knowing MLB, Noah will get suspended. While Utley, who breaks Tejada's leg, gets off with an overturned suspension, on a slide that caused MLB to make a rule change because of the slid...

Re: Pitch counts & Innings limits
I have typically agreed with the "I hate pitch counts" theory. I have my own theory. I have seen it with major league pitchers, minor league pitchers, and school age pitchers. There is a huge difference between a "stressful" 100 pitches and an "easy" 100 pitches. I just witnessed a high school age p...

Several comments about Mets fans being "front runners" or not supporting their players. There is nowhere better to play, if you continuously work hard and are an upstanding guy. No one has struggled as much as David Wright over the past several years.. he does not get booed. Ever. This is because he...

Re: May 24th Gameday Thread
It's a shame this Nationals/Mets game wasn't in NY so we could hear the NY front-runners....I mean "fans," boo Matt Harvey again. Classy. Nobody turns on their teams quicker than the privileged NY "fans," who act as if it is their birthright to win every year, in every sport. The cracks are startin...
