Re: Get $100 Off Any NFBC Contest Through Fanduel

Hey wow... this is a great discount! I'll definitely be partaking it in this year :) Hey any idea what time the watching party will go to around? I'm getting in Thursday night but might miss it... I think we get in around 9:30 PM :/

Re: Downs goes Down

Chad, personally I just can't bring myself to try that. I get that in a league with no overall title, it's acceptable to punt categories, but that's a good example of why punting SP is usually a losing proposition... relievers are so volatile from year to year, especially saves (though punting saves...

Re: Downs goes Down

I predicted that this would be the most tumultuous year for closers that we've ever seen in baseball and I could be right after just one freaking month! I didn't know there would be this many injuries, but for the first time since I started playing fantasy baseball (admittedly not nearly as long ago...

Re: Downs goes Down

Just my 2 cents but I think Frieri will come away with the job there... put a speculative bid on him for $27 and barely got him... consolation prize for missing out on Robertson (who I don't even know for sure has the closer's gig) - I ONLY bid $434 for him... clearly an underbid as he went for $555...

Re: Week 4 NFBC XII Drops

As a longtime player in 12-team leagues, including this year's NFBC XII, I disagree... not like dropping Corey Hart or anything, but still... you gotta have a DEEP team to drop guys like Bedard and Tabata... and Bedard looks pretty good right now too! Tabata starting to heat up as expected...

Re: $$ ALERT Francisco Cordero $$

You guys don't have Gaëtan Lavoie in your leagues. In yet another wise move, Cordero was his 30th round pick. NICE! :o would it be wise to you a 23rd round pick on him? I did and have spent the past few weeks wondering why I did something so stupid. I actually got an email the morning of the draft ...

Re: $$ ALERT Francisco Cordero $$

I didn't bid on him, just thought it made sense for those who are desperate for saves since the Santos injury could turn into a Storen type injury. If he is back closing in 2 weeks then it's money wasted...... I made my big bid week 1 on Santiago[/quote] See, bidding on Santiago was a completely dif...

Re: Week 4 Main Event Drops

Reddick, Raburn, A. Casilla, Belt, Figgins, and Olivo seem like questionable drops as well, though without context (looking at their team and who they picked up) it's hard to judge... interesting timing on dropping Jarrod Parker, Mike Carp, and Franklin Gutierrez as all 3 will be up either this week...

Re: $$ ALERT Francisco Cordero $$

What if that visit to LA turns out to be more than just inflammation? Well then you guessed right. But you're bidding ASSUMING that's the case. Unless you think 2 weeks of saves is worth $200-400... in which case I just don't agree with you. It's like drafting Kenley Jansen ahead of someone who actu...

Re: $$ ALERT Francisco Cordero $$

If you're desperate, I get it, but man, Cordero absolutely sucks. I think he will get destroyed in the AL East but who knows, you could some Kevin Gregg-style numbers for a few months if Santos is cooked. But Kevin Gregg is pretty much what you are getting. That's the other problem, too. Cordero is...

Re: $$ ALERT Francisco Cordero $$

I can understand people dropping big bucks on Santiago and Casilla much more than Cordero. Santos should be back relatively soon, so you'll get a few weeks of Cordero closing... so yeah, you'll get some saves, but you'll also have to endure his awful ERA/WHIP ratios while you're at it. He's just no...

Re: $$Trevor Bauer Watch$$

I was gonna say... didn't he get drafted in all leagues? I mean, we all knew he was gonna be up sooner (around May) than later (around All-Star Break). I drafted him in the 24th round in a 12-teamer, so I have to imagine he got drafted in all 15 team leagues and most 12 teamers if not all...

try dealing with losing your 1st round pick - Jacoby Ellsbury - for about 2 months. Pitchers are much easier to replace at least... you can't replace that for that long
