Re: Batting Average vs. OBP: Let's Discuss For The NFBC

OBP i'll disclaim up front that: (1) i'm not nearly as good (or committed) a fantasy player as probably most others here, and (2) i have never been a big spender, maybe $700-$1000 a year here, including split teams, and (3) KJ has a very valid point that, for the advanced (here, probably average) pl...

Re: Dissolved League - Integrity & Acountability

you don't care about what words actually mean? would be like mischaracterizing "OBP" for "OPS" and then saying, "look, I'm not geting into semantics, here" if somebody told you they were different stats. ask one of your attorney relatives what "direct evidence" is - they can explain to you how it's...

Re: Dissolved League - Integrity & Acountability

. Very important topic; however there has to be direct evidence. i'm pretty sure what you mean to say is "compelling," (which would include "circumstantial") and not "direct," which has a specific definition. i'm not getting into semantics; however if a commish threw out my championship caliber tea...

Re: What's The Early Feedback On The NFBC Cutline?

The Draft Was 36 Rounds the right number? No (see FAAB). Bump it up a few rounds, reduce first FAAB. Did 55 seconds per pick push you too much or did it help speed things along? Asking a compound question this soon will get you paragraph answers. It was a good pace. Knowing what you know now, would ...

Re: GOOD news for Massachusetts fantasy

i wouldn't characterize this as good news. i see issues right away: "940 CMR 34.00 is intended to protect Massachusetts consumers who play Daily Fantasy Sports contests" okay, "INTENDED" - does it? no. Then they define DFS to include all fantasy sports ("Daily Fantasy Sports or “DFS”: Any contest in...

to give up $13,000,000.00 because you can't bring your kid to work everyday (and not just to work, but to the conference room when the meeting is happening) is an insult to anybody but the most entitled, privileged, out-of-touch members of the human race. kudos to laroche for having a skill that all...

how were you so wrong on kole? Is .256-26-83-78-4 really so wrong? He did his job. I anticipated more runs but the team was in a slumber all season. i've got .275-23-81-100-10 on my sheet. also, curious about the "i could watch him pick" lines since if i recall, last year when i gave you $30 for ba...

Re: Do not draft with list?

my favorite is the guy in round 1 who times out / takes seven hours to pick. "I didn't know it started" happens every draft. and then you realize it's true, he didn't know it started, because he's a good drafter after that...but who the hell signs up for a DC then doesn't pay ANY attention to the st...

1. Regression, as I talk about it, is the act of things out of a player's control regressing to the mean. Regression goes in both directions (regression can also be "progression"). Unfortunately, regression has taken on the connotation "play worse." In a pure statistical sense, the skills of a play...

scoring W for season long contests means you've missed the boat

I wouldn't worry about attracting new players, just retaining legacy players.

Congress does not really care about the distinction between skill and luck and gambling. They only care about protecting certain interests. I mean you can say we should ban games of short duration, but then why does NY have zero interest in banning horse racing? It all comes down to political will....
