Let me guess: the great Tony LaRussa. No? Then it must be he just leaves his best starter (Garcia) in there to get punded for 12 ER and 15 baserunners in less than 3 innings. I guess he figures it's better to give the game away in the first inning than to use his 15 man bullpen for something other t...
This has got to be the funniest topic ever on the message boards. I can't stop laughing! I mean no disresepect to anyone, as I have been there too. I just can't stop laughing!
Draft day in the NFBC is always the best day of the year. It was great to see my old rivals Tom, Al,Bill and Kent, as well as meeting other owners for the first time. I think I was aced out of more picks this year than in any previous draft. I have to chuckle at some on the NFBC message boards who i...
Eddie, I like your "worst trade ever" post with Nathan, Bonser and Liriano for Pierzynski. This was a classic. But the worst ripoff in the history of all sports has to be the Pirate's giveaway of Aramis Ramirez for Bobby Hill. A perennial all-star for a guy that never played! Of course this is just ...
Tampa 1 is going to be a special league this year! My name is Jeff Peters. My son Jeff Jr. and I had a blast Saturday. I am a recently retired box salesman from Erie, Pennsylvania, and my son works in the computer field in Pittsburgh. My sole business now is making the draftboards that were used at ...
I don't pretend to be any kind of expert here, and sometimes can't explain why I pick certain guys other than hunches. Picked in the #1 position. Top six picks: 1.) Pujols 2.) Furcal 3.) A. Ramirez (wanted Atkins, but long gone) 4.) M. Rivera 5.) Lugo 6.) Matsuzaka Picking on the end is tough, as it...
Greg- there was some talk the other night during the NFBC Champs draft about everyone throwing in $250. Is this going to happen? How do we get it organized?
I watched Chad Fox's arm fall off last night, and thought I noticed a small fortune in FAAB dollars spent on him the day before. Sure enough! He was purchased in almost all leagues for a hefty price. Just goes to show how desperate most owners are for a few saves. In this case, however, it looks lik...
Depends on what eligibility requirements there are. As I said earlier, I DO NOT tailor these labels for every different league I supply. Otherwise I would have thousands of spreadsheets instead of only 93. These catchers I talked about all have 10 games of eligibility, which is most common in fantas...
As an addendum to the previous post, there are a few exceptions to the printing of player labels "at the position they played at most last year" when they are eleigible at multiple positions. What I did was use a little common sense and figure that if anyone drafts Craig Wilson, it's probably not go...
I see a few messages asking about the player labels that will be used. First, each player will only be printed at only ONE position, regardless of how many positions he is eligible at. Can you imagine the mess there would be if you had 3 Craig Wilson stickers? He could possibly be picked multiple ti...
To accommodate 15 or more teams, we use a partial board, custom cut with tabs to lock into the end of the draftboard. For the stands, we also have a custom cut extension. Everything locks together and the whole unit is very solid.
If any of you guys would like to get the same draftboard that Greg has chosen to use at the NFBC, check out www.fjfantasy.com. These are not your typical "paper" draftboards, but rather a high quality free-stander.
The draft boards will have player labels (924 of them) which are color coded by position. If a player has played at more than one position, the position he will be labeled in will be the one he played the most at last year. To see what the draft boards will look like, go to www.fjfantasy.com and che...
