thanks for the feedback, dyv, john_ashton, and the other flame-baiters. I guess there's a second showstopper precluding my participation: too many assholes like you two. Better to know that now than after having forked over $1250. It would take all the fun out of playing to have guys like you in the...

60 seconds to make your picks?
Originally posted by LB Big Richards: OK, now you're trying to make this complicated when it doesn't have to be. Just take it from us experienced draft participants, time hasn't and won't be an issue. Say you're picking 8th. This gives you another 15 picks - roughly 15-20 minutes - before your next ...

3 leagues is a very small sample size. still, i'm curious, how did the person who picked 1st do in each of the leagues? how did the person who picked 15th do in each of the leagues?

60 seconds to make your picks?
thanks, you've given another argument against (the fact that there is a second draft for a second type of competition scheduled after the 1st).
oh well, I guess that means that I won't be playing then.

i agree that anyone -can- win, and that free agent pickups during the season are key. my argument is that the person picking 1st (or 2nd or 3rd) has a much higher -probability- of winning than the person drafting 15th. Even if I don't participate (and I won't, unless the 60-second selection rule is ...

60 seconds to make your picks?
The only argument I've heard against giving 2 minutes for each pick is that it will extend the total draft time (it would, but not by much). Is this the only argument against? To me, that's not a very strong argument against; the draft is fun, and the time flies by anyway. IMO, the argument for more...

thanks. that's a showstopper issue for me (the selection time). I'm surprised that no one else has chimed in on this issue; 60 seconds is not long enough, even employing computer automation to track the picks. Having to track the picks yourself makes the 60-second selection time preposterous. There ...

thanks, that clears up a lot...but since that time, i've come up with two more questions: (1) how/when will the draft order be determined? imo, the guy who has the 1st pick has a tremendous advantage in this league. The reason being that he gets A-Rod, and when it raps around for his 30/31st pick, h...

60 seconds to make your picks?
a 10 hour draft wouldn't bother me at all. Hell, even a 15-hour draft wouldn't bother me. IMO, the draft is the funnest part of participating in a league, and the time flies by.

60 seconds to make your picks?
Actually, the max time would be 14.5 hours. But you are assuming that everybody would always use the full 2 minutes. which won't happen. i have observed in my 4 years of playing that most people pick relatively quickly...but on a few picks during the draft, you are thrown into a quandary because the...

imo, this is not nearly enough time, considering what's at stake. In yahoo default leagues, you get 90 seconds, and I have found that this is not even enough time. can any consideration be given to lengthening the selection time? I'd give it at least 2 minutes.

I'm very interested in playing in this league, but have a few questions that are not answered in the "Rules" link: 1. It is specified that there are no minimum thresholds for games played...but are there maximum thresholds? i.e. can you get stats for as many games as you can slot using your active 2...
