Everyone happy with their pick?

Bob is the reigning Mr. Fantasy Baseball at www.SportsBuff.com, winning the championship after placing 1st during the regular season in our salary cap competition, and then advancing to the post-season event in Las Vegas with the #1 seed. It was close, but he won it all with a great post-season draf...

Las Vegas NFBC League 5

Hello boyz. Last year, we picked at #12, so I haven't even let myself consider drafting any higher... and then we get the #1 pick. My first reaction was that I wasn't very happy at all. BUT now we get to grab Bill Hall before any of you schmucks think about stealing him away from us. Looking forward...

Rules Proposals For 2005 NFBC

I love the decibels comment... showing how goofy this discussion really is getting. You either allow partners or not... whether they're on the phone being quiet or physically next to you being loud. Greg - you created a fee for the contest and reserved space based on 2 or 3 chairs per team. There yo...

Rules Proposals For 2005 NFBC

Guys - INbound cell calls are definitely a problem, BUT an OUTbound line is not. I used a phone off and on for most of the draft and guys in my league didn't even know it. It's up to each person to be discreet and to respect the other owners. Talking quietly on a phone is no different than talking t...

League vs League standings?

By the way PITT. Your post and analysis was also top notch. It was an interesting perspective. Thanks. Overall, using cumulative league stats instead of cumulative rankings eliminates the benefit of poor teams in a league... from a league v. league perspective.

CC - we're starting to get to know your team and Ya Gotta's team very well. I hope injuries don't play too big of a role down the stretch (mainly because we're starting to see more and more of them - Everett, Ginter, Pettitte, and Armas). Enjoy the stretch run! JT (And I hope more and more of you wi...

League vs League standings?

DUKE - very impressive post. Thanks for the time and effort. The league strength debate is interesting and it really needs to be based on overall statistics, not ranks. I've always thought that you adapt to whatever scoring system there is. From a business perspective, you create a scoring system th...

Men and Women of NFBC, We're really enjoying the NFBC and the opportunity to compete against the best baseball minds in the country. Kudos to Greg and gang for putting together a great competition. We wanted to celebrate our first visit ever to the top overall spot in the NFBC (we're hoping it lasts...

Draft Recap--Best/Late Worst/Early Pick

Originally posted by b.rudd48: Our worst early pick was Fullmer in the 7th. As for late picks, I am thinking Suppan, although I don't remember exactly what round we got him in. He does not get many K's, but keeps the ball down, and has a good D (and O) behind him. We got Fullmer in the 13th in Vegas...

Las Vegas NFBC League #1

Boys - BONGIZMO just took us up on the free entry plus $50 offer for Sports Buff's Mr. Fantasy Baseball contest. I was #12 in the league and we donated the bobbles. Make sure you compete against me, Coach B, BONGIZMO, and a ton of others from the NFBC. Our contest will cost you at most $100 or so af...

Bobbles and Your Entry

Men and Women of NFBC, It was a pleasure drafting with and against you this past weekend. I hope you're all enjoying your bobbling Coach B... you own 1 of the first 400 ever created. Coach B is da man, and has been a fixture in fantasy sports since 1993. We've had several emails from contestants loo...

Las Vegas NFBC League #1

No problem Giz... you guys might as well write my #12 team off right now. I just heard from a bunch of college buddies and they'll be in town. We'll be heading out to the clubs around Midnight Friday night. Based on my 1000 calorie per day intake lately, 3 beers will get me wasted and 3 shots will e...

Las Vegas NFBC League #1

About an hour ago, I finished my Lean Cuisine lunch (trying to lose about 20 pounds and go from a triple to a double chin). Today, I selected a less-than-satisfying meatloaf and potatoes. A few minutes later, I get Greg's email, look up my league, and I'm competing against the Meatloaf man himself. ...

Weather Forecast for Vegas Draft

Thanks for the weather post. I was just going to go out and track down the Vegas forecast. I'll be flying in Tuesday to get a day of rest and hopefully some sun before the FSTA Show and the big draft. Good luck and I look forward to competing against you boys in sin city. By the way, you should get ...

Who has decided to enter the NFBC and where?

Hammer! It will be great to see you again big guy. Are you still pumping like a mad man? You know the truth... no ringer ability here. By the way, do I get credit for your entry? lol I'm splitting this team with 3 others... you know I can't afford it. Save some time for me while you're in Vegas. I n...

Who has decided to enter the NFBC and where?

Thanks Greg - Coach B and I are along for the ride. We'll throw in our money and hope to get a hot ham sandwich and dos cervezas at the draft. This crew looks tough and intense... the best kind of customers to have. Good luck to everyone, especially one of my favorite web programmers - Dave Gawron. ...
