IP For 2007 And 2008

Greg,

How many teams were below 800 IP in the satellite, auction and Ultimate events? I know I'm under 800 IP in two leagues, and there are 2 other teams in my satellites that are also under 800.

Incorrect Percent Owned in LV 1250 Mix Auction

Bump Not sure if I'm explaining the problem well. All players in the league are either 0%, 33%, 67%, or 100% owned...clearly, something's not calculating correctly. Moreover, some players that are on the waiver wire are showing 100% owned, while some players that are owned are only showing 0% owned.

Incorrect Percent Owned in LV 1250 Mix Auction

Hey Greg or Tom,

The Percent-Owned field in the LV 1250 Mix Auction league is incorrect. It looks like STATS is only picking up data from three random leagues, instead of using all 15-team mixed-league data.

Can you have STATS check this out? Thanks.

NFBC In 2008

1) March 15 is two weeks before Opening Day, just like every NFBC event before it. 2) March 15 conflicts with far fewer local leagues and avoids overlap with the CDM deadline. 3) March 15 avoids the HUGE problem of setting lineups after the games have started. If there is a data entry mistake on Mar...

Wanting Past League Results - 15 Team League

Slugger -

Log into your NFBC account, then go to Standings --> Overall. That will show the 2006 final numbers. Click on any of the leagues to see the data you're looking for.

You'll probably want to do this pretty soon, as STATS will be clearing out 2006 data any day now.

AL Central Division: Do The Twins Repeat Again?

I don’t know who will win the AL Central, but I’d be willing to bet that Minnesota will NOT be competitive. Offensively, more than half of all Twin starters played over their heads in 2006. I doubt anyone is planning to pay for a repeat from Morneau (321-34-130), Cuddyer (24 HR, 109 RBI), Castillo (...

AL East: Will The Yankees Win Again?

When I ran the numbers a few days ago, I was surprised by how much better the Red Sox look (on paper) than the Yankees. Offensively, I've got Boston as the best team in the majors for both OBP & SLG. While the Yankees are a close second in OBP, I've got them as only fifth in SLG. This could also be ...

Give me some perspective

Don't beat yourself up too much over Giles. I took him in two of my three drafts, once at 8.05 and the other time at 8.08. I thought he was a low-risk guy good for 290-20-10 numbers. Oh, well. At least I got my other 8th round pick right when I selected...Brad Wilkerson. Maybe I should ge...

Hey Vander, Thanks for the reply, and congratulations on your league win last year. It may surprise you, but the payout ratios for High Roller and NFBC are actually very similar. Here are the numbers: NFBC overall prizes = $144K, or $400 per team NFBC league prizes = $204K, or $567 per team Entry fe...

NFBC Draft Champions Results

Speed is very interesting in this draft. Last year, Figgins was a late first-rounder and Pierre was an early second-rounder. These two guys stole 52 and 58 bases, respectively, and…they’ve fallen to the end of the third round in this draft? I was expecting to see these guys off the board about ten p...

Over/Under for Lugo SB: Your best guess?

What’s happening, Brent?

Yeah, I’m getting the feeling that most projection services – relying heavily on 3-year history – are going to overestimate Lugo’s SB totals. With that said, I am curious if anyone thinks Lugo really is a reasonable bet for 25 SB.

Over/Under for Lugo SB: Your best guess?

Boston has earned a reputation as a low-SB Moneyball-style team. The numbers seem to justify this reputation: The Red Sox were last in the majors in SB last year and were in the bottom three in 2005. Team SB doesn’t tell the whole story, though, so I decided to do a little more digging. I compared t...
