Dyv,
My brother needs one of those, too. Please send. Is the hat part of Target's "Holy Grail" line?

Upcoming Satellite League Openings
FYI, these draft times are too early for me to be able to participate. Please consider having some later draft times, as I would love to participate in the future.

Mid season Rosters
If drop an active pitcher to the bench and hit submit, your full roster will appear in the usual format you are used to. You can then make whatever changes necessary.
I have two teams and this worked for both of them.

B.Myers to pen !?
I'm not sure of the relevance of whether or not Myers is on your NFBC roster. I believe I was in the majority of owners who was hoping to land Myers in the right spot. I think factoring in "organizational stupidity" (I prefer the term "organizational trends" as it is all inclusive) is part of the dr...

Hats off to KJ - Rollins goes yard twice already
If he was bent on taking Rollins, he could have easily moved down to 9 or 10 and been assured he would be there. Taking him at 6 was a waste regardless of the numbers he puts up. The only possibility is if he scouted the draft so deeply that he knew he wanted to be at 25 and 36 instead of 21 and 40,...

$$$ALERT$$$ Ben Sheets -_Cy_Young?
I don't get this "Sheets as a value pick" talk. He went in the 4th round in my draft after Santana, Halladay, Zambrano, Carpenter, Oswalt, Webb and Peavy. That's a fair price to absorb his risk/reward combination. I agree his ability makes him the potential #2 ranked starter. Personally, I have him ...

Papelbon back to closing again
Here's the note I wrote on Papelbon: "Elite K/BB. 3 Starts in 2005 17.1 IP, 1.44, 2.08, 15K. Not much else to go on. Might get shipped back to closer - even more value?" I regret the question mark. He is absolutely more valuable as a closer whether you drafted him for 15 wins or not. The risk of you...

You'll want to take note of the Nascar race, as well. Not sure that has been announced either, but it is a very busy weekend, as well.

What is the deal with waivers closing five minutes early? I was about to submit a bid for Jonah Bayless. I am not a happy camper.

All-DL Team
That team has a lot of potential, but also a lot of known risk. I should know, I got "boxed in" to taking risky players early in the draft and decided to draft completely on upside. So far, I have been burned. Lee, Burnett, Sheets, Gagne, Sheffield, to name a few, had huge questions to answer as of ...

Seven bench slots is more than enough to manage injuries. If you're like me and have a bench filled with DL players, you have choices to make, plain and simple. I'd like to see less bench slots and more player volatility, personally. [ May 16, 2006, 09:44 AM: Message edited by: Mr. LBN - Jeff Price ]

Relative Value of Free Agency
The bids on Hamels got me thinking. Has anyone tried to quantify or even thought about how the 1000 free agents units translates to the pleyer values many of us use? I estimate in that your free agent units should target @$60 in player value in a mixed league and @$40 of player value in a league-onl...

Shoot! I missed Randa's 1 for 7 weekend since I stopped checking Lee at noon on Friday!
Sadly, depending on the day, that 1 for 7 might help my team's current average.

Mid-Week roster changes
This happened once before and has already been addressed by Greg. I believe his words were, "you only get one chance." Once you submit and Griffey is out of your line-up, you don't get to change again. This guards against several ways of owners gaming DL'd players to take an advantage. I feel for yo...

Drops For Week 3
Unless there is a misprint, the Homer Simpson "DOH of the Week" Award goes to Barry's Juice and the Scorpions, both dropping Chris Young in NL-only leagues. Almost has to be a misprint, though. Is there more than one Chris Young? I can only find one. 2nd Place to Jim Wiz and the drop of Brett Myers ...

Do you really think having a handful of DHs adds a great deal of strategy? I don't. It certainly adds less strategy than it does confusion. That is why I proposed throwing the handful of DHs in with the first baseman and calling it a day. I think most of the strategy around utility-only players is r...

Fielder at 1B and CI
It seems to me that having a utility-only definition on a player is more trouble than it's worth. It makes the game a bit different, but not necessarily any better or worse from a "having fun" standpoint. And, it seems to cause confusion. Between the current Fielder issue and the discussion that eve...

Friday Line-Ups
Once you submit your weekend lineup with the DL guy on your bench, he's stuck there until the next round of Sunday changes. You can't move guys on the DL from your bench for the weekend for good reason. If you were able to, I could take my start from Milton early this week and then move Sheets in fo...

Regardless of the magnitude, an unfair advantage has been gained through an action that is not in accordance with the rules. One could argue that there should be some sort of punishment for the violating owners - owners who either failed to confirm an inconsistency between a known rule and a systems...
