Breakfast at Bellagio

Add two for breakfast. I'm bringing the brains of Team Buster, 11-year old Jason, along.

Utterly Ridiculous

Probably a good thing that you aren't in the main. Greg and Tom do a fantastic job. While the leagues are rarely considered fare, they've been fair since the NFBC’s inception. Good luck in your future fantasy endeavors.

Official Statement From Liberty Media

My then 9-year old son and I won our league, drafting in Vegas, in 2009.

I left him at home last year... and finished 5th.

We all know who has the brains in our organization.

Fanball

Having not read any of the purchase agreements and/or non-compete clauses (if any), it is hard to speculate as to what Liberty owns and doesn't own. However, a few things seem to be reasonably clear: Liberty doesn't own fantasy baseball Liberty doesn't own 23 man starting line ups and/or a reserve r...

In the oft-chance that there is a tie breaker game or games, will we be able to change our lineups for October 4?

Lifetime Standings??

Ya think that STATS could get the lifetime standings figured out in, well, our lifetimes? Just a few more examples of STATS' creative math. No offense intended to those names I use, they're just the first of likely many that are wrong. Mrs. Josh Hamilton: Four years with adjusted numbers in (__), 11...

Lifetime Standings??

More on Lifetime Standings. STATS is using an Adjusted overall ranking, so that it can compare years where there were different numbers of participants. This is certainly the right idea, as finishing 190th out of 190 is far different from finishing 190th out of 390. Here are the numbers of participa...

Lifetime Standings??

Hate to beat a dead horse, but STATS has been wrong on the lifetime standings since just about the lifetime standings' inception. They are still wrong, whether or not one sorts them by year. For example, Aaron Smith is currently ranked third overall. Here is his line: 2007 15th, adjusted average 12....

Lifetime Standings??

Gekko's right.

Indeed, if you look just at last year and this year thus far (through June 15), Gekko is #2 with an adjusted rank of 10.64, far better than the 22.22 and 23.78 currently listed as leading.

I don't focus on your team.

In my day job, much of my work involves exposing people who commit fraud and deceit, which probably explains why I often gravitate toward your posts.

I don't make 100% guarantees, so this is not about me. By the way, my team is doing just fine, thanks for asking.

Todd: No one is (or should be) questioning your successes in the NFBC or elsewhere. Indeed in this thread, other than Gekko, I don't think anyone has discussed who has, or hasn't been successful, in the NFBC. Your stellar reputation proceeds you. I think with Blanton, the thought (at least my though...

The Blanton Ripoff

Gekko: Found a pitcher you might be interested in. As a 23 year old, he had a K/9 IP of 6.5, and a BB/9 IP of 2.1. Toss in his 3.1 K/BB ratio. Plus, he pitched more than 200 innings. The next year, he had a 6.5 K/9IP in over 200 innings. The next year, he had a 6.6 K/9IP in over 200 innings. Last ye...

One game may be an anomoly. Seven games is a trend.

In the categories that count:

Blanton 1 win, 0 saves, 33Ks, 1.68 WHIP, and 6.86 ERA.

Keep starting him. That K/BB ratio would really be valuable if that category was part of this competition. Alas, it is not.
