Las Vegas NFBC League 5
Joe, I certainly wasn't intending to hoard money. I thought that I made pretty solid plays on the relievers that went. I more guy getting soome saves for me (even short term) could have gotten me out of the middle of the pack in that category. Not to mention I was $1 short getting Scutaro to have a ...

Wow:
Week 4 Free agents killed me. I put in for 5 different players and was totally shut out. I hope I don't live to regret underbidding.

quote: --------------------------------------------- There's a guy in LV #1 that renamed his team "The Chad Fox Expierence." I checked his roster. He's got Benitez Also. Chest: I'll reply here to the comment you made about Brian Roberts in another forum. I didn't project 6HR for the year for him. Like I said at lunch, I felt like I was stretching in the 10th rd to get a 2B with SB potential. For now, he is only taking up the slack for Teixiera. I agree that I need M...

PW, I could care less about what y'all say to each other. However, if you do it on a public forum, you can't exactly tell someone to mind their own business.

Wow, 115th avg? Here I thought I was stretching to get him in the 10th rd.
My 7th rd pick was Mulder. NOT quite as stellar.

OK, there is a post to list your dogs. How about listing the players that have already achieved some of their projections.
Brian Roberts= 4HR (equals last year's total)
Rafael Palmeiro= 1SB (who projected any?)
any others?

FAAB bids
I wasn't about to spend $400 on any one player this early. I would rather beat someone by $350 than lose by $1 on a player that I felt I needed. Throughout the season there will only 5-6 players tops that will warrant competitive bids. Most of else will end the year with over $500 in FAAB $$ leftove...

I'm thinking of adding the stat "simulted starts" to my fantasy league. That way Mark Prior and Kerry Wood can earn their high draft pick status.

**UPDATED** Average Draft Position (Top 90)
I know that I am a little late replying to the top 90, but I'll take this chance to comment... I have the average 6 out of 90, but I feel pretty good about them. I had the 12th pick and all 6 that I have, I got at better than the national average. I could have got 1-2 more, but I spent rounds 6-10 p...

Being an owner that admits that I totally overlooked the Houston situation and got Burke in both the main event and my auction, I feel your pain.
Burke is not an 18 year old kid, he is 25. has he really been that bad to lose a starting spot to Orlando (bleeping) Palmeiro.

___________________________________________ Bonderman is better than Weaver. It's a no-brainer. His league and his defense may run up his era, tho. It has in the past. _________________________________________ If Bonderman's ERA goes up (for any reason), doesn't that by definition make the other guy...

I didn't see a forum for this league yet. If I missed it feel free to delete the topic. Otherwise, I wanted to say I very much enjoyed my first auction. I have done straight drafts for years and have always wanted to participate in an auction. I feel pretty good about my performance. Once the top pl...

Auction Rules Change for 2006
I'm not complaining about stratagies that anybody uses...good luck to them. I will say that wouldn't it be funny if one or two of those single A players got september callups and gave up a 3-run homer in their first inning of work. Myself, I can't remember seeing the all reliever strategy working fo...

Did you guys happen to notice the guy who started this thread was "Mankind" asking to rate his team. We are on the second page of posts and the poor guy has had no feedback. So, for Mankind, here you go: Hard to argue with your top 4 out of the #1 hole. If your young OF's (Chavez and DeJesus) come t...

Well, I have played long enough so that my first trade was picking up Robin Yount for a young OF with a low BA and was weak in RBI...(Rookie Barry Bonds). I've played nearly every format. This year will be my first auction. I have had decent success with H2H, salary cap and straight roto leagues. I ...

"4. We are working with STATS to enable lineups to be set up to 5 minutes before the first game of the week. That will give owners a little more time on Mondays to set their lineups. I am not an official part of the industry, just a participant for a long time. It seems to me that CDM would have been among the first choices for MLB to partner up with. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the CDM games (initially Sporting News) were the first ones that I noticed that marketed to huge poo...

Personally, I will prepare for all spots in the draft. But, obviously, I would have a couple preferences. I'm not suggesting this for this year, but i have seen leagues that picked teams out of a hat, then as you are picked, choose your draft position. much like the Kentucky Derby. Some owners may n...
