What Did You Think Of The Bellagio Setup This Year?

I thought the setup at the Bellagio was fantastic. I could only attend the first weekend, but the food was WAY better than last year (especially the lemon meringue tarts for dessert), the facilitators were great, and I had a blast. It was great to see everybody, and I would have been there both week...

Spring Training Games In Vegas

Hi, Scottie and Matt: Yes, Vegas has been crowded since I arrived on Saturday.....but I've been too busy prepping for the draft in my hotel room to even make a basketball bet in the sports book.....the weather has been beautiful.....I've got a golf game booked for Thursday....the Aria sports book ha...

Baseball Prospectus

bjoak, thanks for the explanation. Although I hear what you're saying, I can't fully buy it.........if you played the season out a million times, Roy Halladay would exceed 14 wins at least 950,000 times.......but if you don't like my wins analysis, try this one.......Baseball Prospectus also predict...

Las Vegas First Weekend: March 18-20

Hi, Greg and Tom:

I originally signed up for the auction championship league on Sunday March 20 at 10 a.m. in Vegas. Since it looks like that league won't fill, could you please move me to the Friday morning league?

Thanks.

Income Tax - Canadian Prize Winners

Hey, Greg: I live in Canada, and received a cheque for my prize winnings in the mail, with a 30% holdback for income tax. We don't pay any income tax on these winnings in Canada, and it wasn't deducted last year, so why this year? How do we get that back? Has anybody else experienced this? HELP! I'm...

Split Payments

If you guys don't want to pay taxes on your winnings, you can just move to Canada. Any gaming or lottery winnings are considered "windfall earnings" in Canada and are non-taxable......I hope you are all jealous.....of course, you would have to put up with all the cold weather.....it's snowing here t...

Time to Rejoice and Give Thanks

Guys, the season is a mere 10 days old, the web site problems have been 99% fixed, we have all survived our perceived Armageddon, nobody has jumped out of buildings, and things are back to operating smoothly again. I think it's time to quit all the negative postings, thank the guys who worked their ...

Thanks To Everyone In Las Vegas

Greg, let me say that I LOVED the Vegas drafts this past weekend. The room was great, and I really liked the fact that we had more room to spread out this year. The pace of our drafts was just about right (4 hours for the main event, and 3 hours, 10 minutes for the double play). I don't think anyone...

Utterly Ridiculous

Let me chime in from League 1 in Vegas. From reading the previous posts, it looks like our draft was "average". We had 12 pitchers gone by pick 5.6, and 14 after the fifth round. However, there were 11 taken in rounds 6 and 7. Lincecum didn't go until pick 2.4 and he was the first one. One different...

Hotel rooms in Vegas

If you're looking for cheap options in Vegas, here are the two best, cheapest and closest. The Imperial Palace on the strip has rooms available for an average of $70 per night, and is about a 10 minute walk from the Bellagio (across the street and down a block and a half). If you don't mind off-stri...
