Re: 1,610 Teams In The NFBC Best Ball Cutline Championship

Definitely like paying the top two teams in each league. It makes sense that both teams which make the first cut should be rewarded. I think I had actually suggested that a couple of years ago. And there's no question that the lockout impacted cutline. I tried to schedule a few in early March and th...

Re: Meatloaf!

Great remembrance, Greg. I always enjoy the historical pieces on our little game. Coincidentally, a few years ago I joined a home league where Cushard was an owner!

Re: Live 2021 Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

This fellow lifelong Packers fan is still trying to recover from Sunday's game. Yet another playoff game we could have (should have) won. But on to baseball. I am definitely looking forward to the season and, having gotten my first shot, I can't wait to actually attend a Tigers game once it is allow...

Re: Looking For Feedback On 2021 Cutline Championship

I agree with John P. on the payouts. In addition to his ideas, I suggested last year that you provide a payout ($150) to the second place team in each league. I renew that suggestion. As for FAAB, two is probably the right number. For those of us who don't like that aspect of our game, two is alread...

As far as I'm concerned, this is extremely well done and more than fair. Have to say I like the Cutline change; just hope no cuts benefits me as it would have last year!

Re: OFFICIAL NFBC STATEMENT ABOUT START OF SEASON

Yes, baseball could have owned July and possibly grown the game with positive results for both players and owners for years to come. But instead, we get this.

And yes, I want to move forward with the teams I've drafted.

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

Greg and Tom, I'm going to keep this simple. A tough decision lies ahead. Make the decision based on whatever allows the NFBC to continue being a big part of our lives. That's the most important factor in the decision. It's easy to get shortsighted, but we can probably all agree the overall long te...

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

Yes, the billionaire owners don't seem to realize the damage they are doing to the value of their billion dollar franchises. In the midst of this nation's twin tragedies they are forfeiting the advantage baseball could have had by being first out of the gate and owning the sports world in July. Rath...

105,000 dead and 40 million unemployed and owners and players are haggling over money. What a truly pathetic look for baseball.

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

Given the twin tragedies that this country is facing now, if baseball isn't played this year due to money it will crush the game for the rest of my lifetime. The owners are all billionaires who have made millions from this game. Their franchises are all worth $1+ billion. I hope they realize how muc...

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

Totally agree with Mike's first paragraph! As for the rest, while I have become more pessimistic as time goes by, if this country could get the testing to a much higher level than there could be a chance to have a partial season. Trying not to be political here, but it's baffling to me how this is n...

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

There simply must be sufficient testing for there to be an MLB season of some kind. Right now it sounds like it's the Arizona plan or bust. I, too, vacillate between optimism and pessimism as to whether it can be done with so many factors that would need to be addressed. For example, one point Trout...

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

It is completely unrealistic to expect NFBC to cancel the hundreds of drafts that have been completed and refund our money. I daresay the vast majority of us don't want them in jeopardy of going out of business. And I, for one, have zero interest in redrafting my teams. And any number of teams get d...

Re: Slow pokes and Draft Champion Leagues

I thought teams that ran out the clock more than once were put on auto. Is that not the case? I'm currently in a cutline that has made 64 picks in 54 hours. Several owners just don't seem to be much interested:(

The real temperature was -26 at 7 am CT today. That's insanity. The wind has died down some today, so the wind chill is only around -40 right now and we should hit a high of -4 late this afternoon. We finally get above 0 tomorrow. Whoopee!!! Greg, I heard this on some news I was listening to and im...

Gb, that's what they are saying. As long as 93% is not affected or is fine with the status quo, few will care about the 7%, right or wrong. I see Doughboys point about trying to avoid in-game management, even though in my opinion there would be no clear edge. However, in game management will open up...

Another situation... Manaea throws three innings. Oakland is ahead 6-0 Manaea is removed because of blisters. Petit is warming in the bullpen. His owners in DC's remove pitchers from the starting lineup to put in Petit for a probable Win. It's just not our game. You are bordering on extreme rarity ...

Re: Simple Rules for Pitchers / Mid Week Moves

We have Ivan Nola and Fernando Rodney on our roster. We decide to bench Rodney. Then, Tuesday night, Minnesota has a three run lead and we know Rodney will be entering the game. He hasn't thrown a pitch, yet we can put him in the game for Nola, since it is an ideal situation and he has not thrown a...

Lineup changes are possible Monday, Tuesday, Friday (hitters only). Alternative: Player lock instead of team lock, lineup freeze after Tuesday night games, and m...
