Prize Checks
Check arrived 10/31--Envelope was meter mailed with a Pitney Bowes Mail machine at F&W on 10/24/2008 and was mailed by the F&W employee on ???? --we'll never know, but seems like 10/27 possibly after 5pm(or 10/28) as far as the Post office is concerned. I guess capturing the float on 980K for 5 extr...

Good to see someone from the same city got a check 4 business days after mailing.
For me: Bill Murray's Groundhog Day--a trip to the post office and no check. Let's see about Friday.

It arrived!! 2 Ebay purchases that were shipped Friday 10/24 via regular mail from California and Kansas to Massachusetts--but No NFBC check from Ohio. What are the 10/27 postmark odds? A chance to double up? Hmmmm or maybe take the Phils to win game 5 for the second time in 3 nights.

2008 Winnings
Greg, Thanks for the update--which also prompts a question. Does F&W Publications escrow the prize money or is it part of working capital and the prize winners are general creditors? Obviously, with the credit meltdown in the financial markets-I've been asked more questions about the financial insti...

Why the Mariners Suck!!
What happened to a team that won 116 games a few yrs back? Recent mistakes-- Vidro as your DH? Please!!! Richie at First--K's are rally killers and a .215 avg. Johjima signed for 3 more yrs when you have Clement? Stupid. Not trading Washburn--he needs a big park to succeed. Morrow from closer to SP?...

Quentin has been remarkable this year. He looks like a young Canseco.
Where did he go in your league or did he go Faab?
NY3--I needed a 6th outfielder to replace Cameron who was spending 25 games from the stands. Rd 23 pick 1

Week 17 Drops
Yup, I was the one at 4:30am who brought up the fact B Wilson was dropped in NY3--just because I hate seeing closers dropped--which changes the draft day balanced team approach. As the last few years have played out--we will all adjust to knowing closers will be dropped in July, August and Sept as t...

Posada done for year?
In fairness to all the teams that were hoping to run on Posada--the Yankees should trade for Hatteberg to catch a few games a week to balance out the AL SB's for the year.

Durham to the Brewers.....
As a Weeks owner it can't be good. Weeks scores a ton of runs, steals 20-25 bags, and K's often. His BA of .215 doesn't bode well for playing 95% of the games though his OB % is fairly high because of the walks. I see 5 of 7 games a week or 4 of 6--so a 10% hit in runs/sb/hr and a plus because my ba...

Talent being dropped!
I was thinking you might do that as well-- you would only lose 10-20pts in saves(overall) and you could gain that in W's and K's--just don't add too many J Moyers, B Moehlers, or K Kendricks--they will make you old VERY fast and they are brutal to watch. I think even I could hit Livan Hernandez--why...

Talent being dropped!
Mark, Wood could have an issue with blisters and as a former Borowski owner, I know we need to troll for potential closers--hence Corpas and Dotel pickups 2 weeks ago. Oakland will probably trade Street and that could open a spot for someone there. Also, Johnson, whom you have, in Balt will probably...

Mark, So you dropped Helton, Butler, McGowan, Napoli, and Perkins You Added--Kershaw, Howry, W Harris, C Ruiz, and B Crosby Analysis--Napoli is only playing 2x per week and has been brutal so ruiz can't be any worse -- Kershaw--lots of upside IF he finds the plate. You can take the whip and era hit ...

FAAB is always a hit or miss--Here are my FAAB pickups--which I think has made my team a top 75 overall team. week 0 Lohse $32 Danks $32 week 1 Wellemeyer $22 week 2 Cliff Lee $76 $66 second J Werth $52 $38 second week 8 J Hairston $118 week 10 Morrow $11 week 11 Mcclung $11 Okay my Rich Hill, Chris...

Somehow the 3 k's don't taste very good

Brian Wilson Dropped NY3
Mark,
You're right about very few closers available in NY3. I'm just glad Childs gave me the heads up on Morrow a few weeks back (great tip at 7:50pm on a Sunday night). Let Wilson stay and let's get bidding--$45

Brian Wilson Dropped NY3
Mark, I will agree with your logic--he is a one category player and a slight negative in 4. But I would still be ticked if I was in the top 10 overall--when a potential difference maker appears because of excess by another team. I know in single leagues, closers are dropped all the time after the al...

Mark,
Okay let's leave him in the pool. Anyone else care if Brian Wilson is left in NY3's free agent pool?
There is risk/reward with Wilson--are you a bidder?
