Cole Hamels
I agree, if the Phils are in the race, they'll continue to pitch him. And then he'll break down in September when he's needed most... As for the Vickrey bidding method, we instituted it in our local league this year and it's working fine. The idea behind it is that a player being acquired via FAAB s...

Early 2006 NFBC Bargains
I'm quite pleased with Jose Vidro (21st), Arroyo (24th), Oscar "4 Wins in the First 2 Weeks" Villareal (26th) and especially Casey Blake (28th). And yet here I am hovering around 6th, thanks in part to my "DL Quintet" of Crisp/DeJesus/Casey/Rivera/Randa. Just waiting for the other shoe/foot/hamstrin...

Fair Trade??? Opinions Wanted....
A well-known source for projections has Edmonds at .270/29/96/94/5 and Greene at .263/23/82/64/5. Pretty close in 4 categories (Avg/HR/RBI/SB), wide discrepancy in Runs due to surrounding cast. So that projected breakout for Greene, combined with Edmonds health issue (I don't care what anybody says,...

Tampa League 1
If they can overcome the loss of MacDougall, either via Timlin or FAAB, then I like Team #11 (the guys from Baseball HQ) quite a lot. I thought they got great bargains on at least half their roster, especially Huff in the 6th, Loretta in the 12th, Johjima in the 14th and JJ Hardy in the 20th. A few ...

Draft Board Company?
I lost the promo sheet that was handed out at the draft for the company that sells the draft board and stickers. Can anyone provide name/URL?
Thanks!

Ryan Howard in the 5th
I just got back from Blue Jays/Phillies in Clearwater. Watched Howard carefully and liked the fact that he showed a good eye and some plate patience (he walked twice). But he does seem particularly vulnerable to slow stuff on the outside corner; he went fishing and missed on at least five swings, an...

Position Eligibility Draft vs. Auction--Basic Question
I must be really dense, so I apologize in advance if this has been covered in past postings (or it's so obvious that I will be forever known as "that guy who asked that incredibly stupid question six days before the draft..."). Anyway, are there different rules regarding Pos Elig for Draft vs. Aucti...

Hello All...12th pick here. Looks like a tough league, with 3 owners in the Top 90 in Lifetime standings. Looking forward to it. Anyone staying over until Sunday 3/19 who might want to catch a game that afternoon? The Yanks are at home against Cleveland and seats are still available (but down the ou...

A quick note from Mock Draft Central
Originally posted by Gordon Gekko: you can e-mail the owners included in last night's mock draft and ask them if it happened. i believe the draft "froze" after burnitz was drafted in the 20th round.
