Re: Win $200,000 In The Debut NFBC Platinum League

either that or 15 separate blind bids.

Which leads to this hugely important question...for spot #15 do you get it for free or have to bid $1??? :-)

Re: Win $200,000 In The Debut NFBC Platinum League

I didn't scroll back too far, so I apologize if this was already answered... For the bidding for draft spot idea, I could see having an auction for the #1 spot...then a new auction for the #2 spot...then new bidding for #3, etc....but if you used blind bids, wouldn't you also have to have separate b...

Re: Bye Bye AROD

I'm sure they would have suspended him for life if they thought it could have been upheld on appeal.

Does this mean we should move A Rod down on our 2014 cheat sheets?

Re: Full Review of Winning Fantasy Baseball by WW

That's why we're having this at midnight. The fire will be visible for miles and miles. I'm bringing marshmallows, and Greg and Tom said they'll teach us all how to make smores. It's gonna be a blast. On a side note, for anyone who got the book, or is going to get it, I just learned there's an error...

Re: Full Review of Winning Fantasy Baseball by WW

Wow, Walla Walla....thanks for the help, buddy. Glad you still love me. The book is now in book stores and the Kindle is available. Nook and iTunes should be any day now. If anyone wants to see more reviews, below are some links. Mike Gianella of Baseball Prospectus and Shandler of BBHQ require a su...

Re: Larry Schechter Book Announcement

yeah, I guess you can say that. although that's putting it awfully simply. If I just wanted to say "draft value" I would have written a short article, not a 95,000 word book. And getting some roster balance is also important. Obviously, in a league like NFBC where no trading is allowed, getting bala...

Re: Larry Schechter Book Announcement

Doughboys -- put very simply, if based on stat projections and an intelligent value formula a player has a dollar value of $20, and you buy him at an auction for $18, that's a good deal...if you buy him for $22, that's a bad deal. And many people will spend $22 for reasons such as "position scarcity...

Re: Larry Schechter Book Announcement

What I mean by "my projections and values aren't better..." is for example, let's say everyone thinks Goldschmidt will hit 35 HR's but I think he'll hit 40...and I buy Goldschmidt...and I was right and everyone else was wrong because he hits 40. If I could do that with a bunch of players, that would...

Re: Larry Schechter Book Announcement

Thanks Bronx, King of Queens, 76erFan, Poopytooth... Walla Walla -- not sure where you got that idea...did you misunderstand when it says "doubt I’ve ever won a league primarily because I had a better set of player dollar values than everyone else..."? I say repeatedly it's all about value. Getting ...

Re: Larry Schechter Book Announcement

Amazon released the book early.

If you get 1-2 day shipping from Amazon, you can have it by Christmas.

Or, for just $25,000, I'll dress up like Santa and deliver it to your door (with Greg and Tom dressed like Reindeer).

Re: Larry Schechter Book Announcement

Hi Sack, Thanks. I'll be in NYC for NFBC 1st weekend and Vegas 2nd weekend. I haven't been to Vegas for the NFBC or NFFC in many, many years. I'll be happy to sign a book, but you'll have a hard time reading my chicken scratch. I love ADP lists, they're very helpful. I mention them in the Snake Draf...

Anybody have mixed auction results?

I'm doing some research, and would like a copy of prices for every 2012 NFBC mixed auction. If you can send me one, any format, by e-mail or snail mail, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

NYC $1300 Auction

I was in both auction leagues this year and last. If I remember correctly, last year we did 10:00 and 4:00. The problem was that there was almost no time in between auctions. When I saw that this year was 5:00, that seemed like a good idea (but I didn't know we had a 10:00 curfew). If you can't get ...

Trying my best

Yeah, depth charts aren't usually very accurate, especially when it comes to players who may platoon; and pitchers who are competing for the rotation spots.

Having said that, the best I've seen is Sandlot Shrink. It's a pay website for most content, but the depth charts are free.
