Re: How About A $100,000 Grand Prize In The NFBC Cutline?

The best ball format is flat-out great fun. Cutline is a blast and I'm all in no matter how you tweak it. Glad you are looking to try and make it better. Improving FAAB will help all games, especially this one. I have one minor suggestion regarding free agent eligibility, especially if FAAB is held ...

Re: Players owned percentages for Cutline

Mr. Vetter, Enjoyed this list. Thank you. Like you, I'm interested in the ones not on it. Looking at the shortstops only, I see Carlos Correa, Jonathan Villar and Corey Seager on only one team each. Out of 27 Shortstops, filling 59 roster spots total. Under-represented for sure, given their draft po...

Re: Cutline Stats

Hey guys it's appears the Cutline stats aren't updating fully. Noticed the last 2 days that a player on my team (Mitch Moreland) has zero stats for week. I suspect other players affected. Any way stats can be adjusted so we all know who makes the cut on cut down day?? Thanks in advance. Thanks for ...

Re: Pitching Changes

I'm with you that there is inequality in the player pool in a overall contest if a minor leaguer is available in some leagues and not others. The way I would fix it is to allow any player drafted on any team in any contest to be eligible in FAAB for all teams in that contest, not just the league or...

Re: Pitching Changes

There are two rules in the NFBC I'd change. 2. Allowing players drafted then dropped to remain in that league's pool, even if the player is a prospect that never played in MLB yet. In an overall competition, the available inventory for all leagues should be the same. Again, I don't care as much abo...

Re: Pitching Changes

If the landscape remains the way it is now, middle relievers will organically become more useful as fantasy owners realize having Miller/Devenksi/Betances etc. instead of streaming an SP7 may earn more ratio points than are lost in W and K.. This is true. But the impact of middle relievers stats on...

Re: Looking For Feedback On NFBC Cutline Rules

Is it possible to have a separate, stand-alone FAABuless Cutline contest? 46 rounds, slow or fast, held up from say mid-December until the start of Spring Training?

Re: Looking For Feedback On NFBC Cutline Rules

There are some terrific ideas on how to improve Cutline in this thread. In Cutline I like the idea of a shorter draft and being able to replace injured players, so I'm kind of at a loss on how you do both without keeping FAAB. Having said that, I play multiple teams and would even if it was FAABules...

Re: Rick Hahn: Yoan Moncada is not close to promotion...

Greg, I'm glad you agree that it's a shame he is not up. International League player of the month, there is no player I can think of in the minors more ready than Yoan. There is a lot of misinformation out there regarding when players lose their Super 2 eligibility, but I think a player who has neve...

Rick Hahn: Yoan Moncada is not close to promotion...

This lie, that Moncada is somehow not ready, troubles me a great deal. We are all being robbed of seeing a great young talent at the major league level. This is just simply Hahn double-speak that means "over the next seven years we can save somewhere between $12 and $18 million dollars if we wait to ...

Re: CUTLINE NEEDS TO BE RE-RUN

It looks like the standings on your team page and overall are a couple of days behind. However, if you hit "live scoring" and look at the standings on that page's tab for standings, it is up to date. Very odd. Look at "live standings" again. While "live standings" was accurate when I last looked, i...

Re: CUTLINE NEEDS TO BE RE-RUN

Just an FYI. I'm not sure rerun is the right term. It looks to me that Saturday stats were ever run at all. Sunday stats weren't either. All my other stats for my regular NFBC roto leagues have been updated through Sunday.

Re: Notes n Stuff

I don't know Dave's time in the forty, but I can add to his scouting report. The man is a fantasy-playing stud. A couple years ago, I had the pleasure of doing back-to-back auctions with Dave in Vegas. I meet him before the first one that was held Thursday night, and I asked him how his day had been...

Here is a recent photo. Is it just me, or does his head seem bigger too?

All in all, I would not have recognized Eric this spring if I had seen him. The transformation he has had since his days in Seattle/Tacoma is huge. It reminds me of someone else who was transformed.

Re: Starling Marte: 80-Game Suspension

If John Lackey wants to accuse Eric Thames of juicing, he should find his balls and just do it. Making cryptic comments and winking at reporters is chickenshit. Thames was tested last week and passed. Hate myself for not owning him at all. I think Lackey could be more helpful by leaning on the Play...

Re: NFBC Is Officially Clear In New York

I guess you could hope no one wins from NY- or is the Tax on all players entry fees from NY? No, that's not how they are calculating this. They are taking all revenue from New York minus the prizes and taking 15.5% of that net. It's not on winnings. DFS companies have already adjusted their prize p...

Really good links to look at, King of Queens. I suppose that decades ago, stadium orientation was more important... when most games were played during the day. Comerica was the most southerly-facing modern stadium up until SunTrust. I found the following article on-line regarding the strikeout rate ...

Who designed the Braves SunTrust Stadium?

I was just looking at sketches, and dang if the whole darn thing isn't facing almost due south. Seems to me that's going to be miserable for the fans. Also miserable for the hitters in the late afternoon. Especially the right-handed batters looking right into the sun on those April and September day...

Do your job, Nats!

This off-season, Bryce Harper was tweeting Free Agent suggestions and GM Mike Rizzo was making public pronouncements on what he thought the best batting order would be for the 2017 Nats. And now Dusty Baker is saying they will try and trade Derrick Norris. Bryce, do your job. Get in shape. Be a good...
