Standings?
My pitching stats are not showing up either from the games on 5/7. I only see this on my league home page when I go under Team stats. Have not gotten the daily email yet.

Here is a tidbit from a report on Furcal -
"Furcal was carted off the field with a trainer holding his ankle in place."
Something about "a trainer holding his ankle in place" doesn't sound all that swell.

Papelbon back to closing again
GG - you're pegged Papelbon I hope you're equally right about Sosa. I grabbed him in the 20th round of my draft.

They have Mark Prior!
Pujols in the 3rd, Papelbon back to closer - could the fantasy gods be smiling on you?

Where was Sammy picked?
I grabbed Sammy in the 20th round (NY 1). If he went 20-25hr with 75-85 rbi I would be very happy. I felt at that point in the draft, it was a good time to grab him and hope for the best - or that he is back on HGH for at least one more year.

Things I saw on Draft Day
To say the least (although I was happy to have V. Guerrero there for me). Strangely similar to the team that picked 15th in my league last year when they took Oswalt and Carpentar with their first two picks.

who is first to_post_their_team?
2nd year drafting. Was in NY League 1 (14th pick), with what seems to be a lot of great owners. C - Jorge Posada C - Paul LoDuca 1B - Lance Berkman 2B - Julio Lugo 3B - Hank Blalock SS - Jhonny Peralta MI - Khalil Greene CI - Todd Helton OF - Vladimir Guerrero OF - Johnny Damon OF - Jeff Francoeur O...

Things I saw on Draft Day
Hey Spyhunter - I was in NY 1, picked 14th. So almost right across from you. I began to wonder if you were even going to draft Pujols at 3. It was an early x-mas present I guess.

Slow and Steady vs Risk and Upside
This is only my second post but I thought some of the players and views were really interesting so I wanted to add some commentary. Who do you think is the first rounder in this equation? Player A = .329 33 116 92 15 Player B = .326 34 116 119 10 Pretty close right? Player A is Vlad Guerrero and pla...

You too (nice team). I've noticed your steady climb, and like your Kendrick pickup. Oh yeah, I was the other team that bid $41 for Perez (thx!).
Got a bit of a closer issue, but otherwise we should hang in there.

Ahh, I am not sure of the rule, but that would make sense. I want to say I saw him on our (NY 6) WW listing up until about 3 weeks ago.

I was just talking to someone who particpates in one of the other NY leagues and he said someone picked up James in his league this past WW period.
I did not see James anywhere in our FA/WW listing.

BigFish - I like Granderson. Any leadoff hitter that can go 20/20 is not a bad player to have and he has some talent behind him.
Also like Beckett and Escobar. Beckett could win 18 games and Escobar could have a sub 3.7 era with good K's.

Closer Runs
In NY6 it seemed like two rounds of closers going non-stop. Not sure if that was reality, but sure felt that way. I lost out. I did grab Valverde and Dempster - not terrible, but not top tier. I had planned on taking a top closer in rd 5 (I had the first pick overall), but when it got to me Pedro wa...

Big Fish - I didn't see your team. What does it look like?
Pitching is so tricky. I will definitely be hunting the FA's.
Good luck to you!

edelman24 - points all well taken. the one thing with the first pick is once you go 28 players come off the board (in a hurry). really have to think it out where you want to go with a player. i am hopeful, that as in year's past, there will be many a pitcher who comes out of nowhere that makes a val...
