Re: Week 1 Lineup Deadline

ZAZIE - considering how you spent your draft weekend, it is always harder to trust anybody with the name TOM. Forgive me Mr Kessenich, I hope you were able to "CATCH" the fact this was not intended as a shot in your direction. Rather a good friend of mine that left the cozy confines of his home cit...

Re: Chicago Venue Review

Yes, that was team 6, specifically Tom, posting above; and I'm his co-manager, Jared. Thanks for the kind words. You kept your sense of humor all day, Rich. That's one thing that made it a good drafting day. I thought both of the draft moderators did good jobs at keeping the drafts going smoothly. I...

Re: Week 1 Lineup Deadline

The first post in this thread, from Tom K, says the deadline (for players other than Miami and St. Louis ones) is 11:30pm on Wednesday. The sixth post in this thread, from Greg, says the deadline is 7pm Wednesday.

Which is it?

Re: New Countdown Link Is Live

I have a similar question to the one you responded to above, Tom. Let me pick a different example -- the 3/31 Chicago XII contest shows 11 contestants (by name) on the signup thread for XII. But the countdown link shows 9 people in and 3 vacancies. As far as I know, nobody's been charged for that le...

More Details On 12-Team Main Event

More Details On 12-Team Main Event

I just got finished having my head handed to me by KJ Duke in the main event, so I know how good he is -- and Potter and Sack are also big-time players. With all due respect to their skills that I have repeatedly proven I can't match, I think Greg has to ignore them for the most part in making these...

Feedback Wanted On 12-Team NFBC Main Event

I've just read and re-read every post here, and I cannot find the reasons to believe that the winning strategy will be to set a price point at or above $1000. The most persuasive posts I've read have all suggested a number below 1000, with 700 now looking like it has the best reasoning behind it. It...

Feedback Wanted On 12-Team NFBC Main Event

Whatever will increase the total number of NFBC players (particularly Main Event players) is in my interest. I want there to be a supply of new players that keeps the enrollment in the ME at 390 to 450 (or more) more or less forever. If there's a way to offer a discounted entry fee (for this 12-team...

Proposed 2012 NFBC Rules Changes

I would like to have the ability to take a player who's in my lineup, and whose Monday or Friday game has already started, and shift that player to a different position so that I could make a substitution. OK, that's confusing. Here's an example from last year. Martin Prado's in my lineup at MI. His...

NFBC and STATS Fixes

On the free agent page, would it be possible for us to sort players by team (in alpha order) in addition to by last name and by stat categories? I think we were able to do that in 2010. Of course that would require a different arrangement than having the team name in parentheses after the player nam...

I also have a team that lost half a point, and therefore split prize money, with someone else -- also caused by that Longoria hr. I wonder just how many changes that Yankee bullpen collapse caused to NFBC standings. Next year, we need to disallow stats from extra-innings games on the last day, espec...

Feedback Wanted On NFBC Online Championship

I would leave the league prizes alone and increase the overall prizes below the top position a bit, maybe paying off the top 15 with maybe the top 10 landing $1k or more. I think 40k is enough to attract the lottery players and you might draw more people who saw a nice payout for those who just miss...

deadline rules question

I understand that the deadline for taking out player A and inserting player B will be earlier than 6:55 if either player A's or B's team has a game starting earlier than that. Makes sense. I want clarification in the following situation: 1. I want to replace player A with player B. Both of them have...

Danny Espinosa owners

Maybe the Nats can trade for Pat Burrell and Aubrey Huff to tighten up that outfield defense. I know there will be some creative vocabulary coming from the lips of those of us who own SF pitchers this year.

It's not just one team that's a little lacking at the defensive end.

Maris was clobbered by the press in '61, yes. He got some credit as the all-around good player he was when he played on the Cardinals -- the press could acknowledge him only after he left the Yankees. I remember the World Series reporters emphasized that he was "underrated" and had a good throwing a...

Having faced Fat Tub Of Goo in a Main Event league this past year, I'd have to say his skills look more like those of an overall winner than like a #285 player. He taught me a lot about drafting. The overall level of play here is so high that we have to expect a lot of variance in results. Very ente...

You said you expected to make an announcement today, and you've done it. It definitely increases my confidence in you and the NFBC when you come through right on time. The substance of the announcement looks very good as well.

Bring on the season!
