Re: Is it time to move on to next year... ?? Fu*k Fauci

Looking more and more like there will be no Baseball season. It is Time to consider refunding money or figuring out a way to allow us players to get our money back or leaving it on account for next year. Even a shortened season of 70-80 games is not what we signed up for or paid for, let alone what...

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

Time to discuss the elephant in the room that is early drafts before the ChinaVirus took hold of our lives. The fact is all early-drafters drafted according to a set of rules based upon a 163-game season with minimum IP & position eligibility requirements set accordingly. Further, a 162 game MLB sc...

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

Greg, D & T ... great job all-round on the decision process, timely calls and action. You've removed 1% of the sting of having no baseball for me, rather than adding to it. :D No easy task given that it's a direct hit to your business and no doubt a worse situation for you guys than us. https://medi...

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

I don’t think anyone has any idea when this will be over. Unless this virus is totally eliminated, I mean 100%, isn’t there a strong likelihood it stays around for a while? The virus isn't going away, it is part of the world now just like other flu viruses. If the country waits until it is 100% era...

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

Well hotel rates in Vegas thru at least April are now about what they were in year one for the NFBC, if not lower. The hotel industry is getting crushed. Here in San Diego hotel occupancies that were usually 70% or higher are hovering around 20% at best. And nowhere are hotels being impacted more t...

Re: Open Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

Getting thru flu season (mid-april?) in combination with massive lock downs as seem to be in process will quicken getting virus under control. Anyone untested would know within 2 weeks, plus another couple weeks after that for new infections without much travel and broad availability of testing by t...

Re: Coronavirus NFBC Travel

Limited avail of tests w strict requirement by CDC of who can be tested. More tests now becoming available, but still govt-controlled criteria. You can't just walk into Dr office and say "test me" for corona. Fear way overblown, number of infections way under-reported. Still no cases w kids showing ...

KJ - what if we have loved ones that we interact with who are older and/or with underlying conditions? Please advise.
Given the nature in which it can spread, I'd be vigilant until there's more clarity.

Re: Coronavirus NFBC Travel

Getting more info every day on this. Increasingly confirming that it will be a very mild condition for many who become infected, most won't even know they've had it. However, if you are elderly or have an underlying disease that compromises your immune system the risk is significant, not unlike catc...

Re: Coronavirus NFBC Travel

I'll be there for the auction regardless, Greg. Might not be hanging around the casino much, but I'm not missing the Diamond and hopefully we have a full room of competitors. 8-) We will take a break every 15 minutes to go wash our hands for 20 seconds. We will have the cleanest buffets and drink s...

Re: Coronavirus NFBC Travel

Testing in the US is very limited, and non-existent in most States. Cases therefore are much higher right now than reported - and death rates much lower - but it is beyond the typical flu as those affected have shown more severe symptoms requiring intensive treatment. I believe this will become a pr...

Re: Coronavirus NFBC Travel

The fear is way out ahead of reality at this point, but travel is being heavily impacted globally including many cancelled events and conferences. As cases increase here it will be interesting to see how US companies/citizens respond, especially in foreign traveler-heavy cities like NY and LV. It co...

Thank you for the praise MTM, but given that we are already in 3 leagues together, I just cannot enter another contest with you where I will obviously, once gain, be playing for 2nd place.

Re: NFBC Side Challenge Games Will Be Available In 2020

Thx for the attribution Greg, but you guys have gone way beyond what I suggested! I thought a single-entry only contest with each Main entrant allowed to select only one team to enter a side pot would've been fun, eliminating the impact of ME owners that load up on multiple teams. We still don't hav...

Re: 163rd Game Play-In Final Survey Results

How about don't lock any player all week until puts up a stat? Can you program that in. And the spirit of this should be "if he hasn't played yet, he should be movable for ANY reason". Let's ignore the persnickety population that is so against anyone who tries to manage an angle to their advantage ...

Re: 163rd Game Play-In Final Survey Results

Wasn't my suggestion, but I do like this one
Allow a pitcher who has not pitched M-Th to be swapped out & replaced on Friday, i.e. a P does not lock until he enters a game & accumulates stats M-Th.

Re: Rules for 2020

Greg, I emailed that to you and/or Darik earlier in the off-season to no avail. If we can't see player stats that led to team stats, if we can't see how lineup decisions affected outcomes, if we can't evaluate weekly stats/trends, we can't do much analysis. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to...

Re: Rules for 2020

Catching up here. My take - the amount of management time and player sensitivity to this minutia is surprising - especially in light of the NFBC scrapping league histories forever as soon as the season ends, with virtually no backlash whatsoever. Why does this matter? 1) as a player, learn from your...
