2005 NFBC Champion Profile: Brian Oldenski
Thanks for thinking of me. I'm still alive. I was just considering possibly signing-up for the online championship and I bumped into your post. I've haven't had enough free time to play fantasy for the past few years. I may be back playing in more leagues in the next year or so -- but no main event ...

NFBC In 2008
I've always thought that using multiple dates would be the next big step for the NFBC. Many participants would field more than one main event team. The grand prize would skyrocket. Those who see a disadvantage in drafting during the earlier date(s) would choose not to do so. But the event wouldn't l...

Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Engines
Todd,
In each of your years in the NFBC, what draft positions have you had, and who did you take in the first round?

Understood.
I didn't want to have to report you to the FSTA.
I'll deal with Zola when I see him in Tampa.

The same goes for the content panel, Greg. They are doing work for you and you are compensating them. Isn't that a conflict of interest?

Greg, could you please speak to this issue?
Isn't it a conflict of interest for someone to work for you and compete in the contest?

This thread keeps getting better, Todd. What compensation are you getting for all the work you're putting into to this board?

Todd -- great stuff thus far. The content panel hasn't provided anything worth reading yet. Greg shouldn't award them a dime. But you deserve a raise! Edwards Kings -- you spelled my name correctly. How could you forget it? And BaseballHQ.com is not overrated. Visit Shandler Enterprises website and ...

I guess no one is looking at drops?
Pedro is scheduled to make starts against Pittsburgh (Friday), the Marlins on Sept. 20, the Nationals on Sept. 25, and the Nationals on Sept. 30. I hope he doesn't do well for the NFBC's sake. But his career/season 1.02 WHIP and 1+ K/IP may make this a messy situation, especially against the above t...

I guess no one is looking at drops?
The Pedro pick-up should not have been allowed, but it looks like not many people care or are paying attention. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a significant difference-maker. Greg posted that he was criticised in the past for taking players out of the free agent pool. He shouldn't have been. It'...

I guess no one is looking at drops?
My fantasy season is over, so I really don't have strong feelings about this -- but Greg, I disagree with your decision. I don't see any risk in rostering Pedro, and you've taken lesser players out of the pool before just to play it safe. There is nothing but upside in this case. The current #2 over...

I just don't get it. How is Pedro allowed to be picked up, and why aren't the teams that are close to this guy screaming?

You're the man! Good article.

I'm not sure why, but that really made me laugh.

Scoring Change 5/24!
Greg,
This change was only applied at the league-level. The overall standings don't currently reflect the change.
My league ERA is at 4.560 but my overall ERA is 4.604. They shouldn't differ.

Scoring Change 5/24!
Greg's point: what if he dishes-out $105,000 on October 2nd, and then the Cubs make another significant scoring change several weeks later -- a change that takes the overall champion out of first place.

possible lineup submission problem
Greg, Tom -- I think the combination of bi-weekly periods and the All-Star break may be causing a problem with submitting a lineup for next week. When I click on the Monday-Friday period for next week, the lineup loads as blank; no players are listed. Then when I try to make a change to my lineup us...
