I looked at the sign-up sites for the main event and satellite leagues.
Do we know "how soon" is soon for the 2010 rules?
Are there are rules changes in the works? Are any of them major or are they just tweaks?

Javier Vazquez For Melky Cabrera??
Although I am in one Dynasty league, I dislike them. The real MLB is a huge salary-capped, contract-driven Dynasty league. I'm not sure any trade involving a player going into his last contract year could ever be disallowed especially when prospect and controlled players are involved. Could the Brav...

even if -- 40 man roster extended to 42 AND 25 man active roster increased to 27. Would 14 higher paid jobs be more important to the union compared to 60 additional jobs. Admittedly the additional 60 MLB position would be filled with lower paid people but the union would have an additional 44 members.

what is the link to last year's stuff. The old link does not work but I didn't think it would.
I had to have the system let me know my ID/password to this board as it was automatic before. New location meant I had to logon again

Arizona Fall League
As a Nats season ticket holder [large group and I get to 10-15 games a year], I cannot imagine him getting called up before Summer if for no other reason than to avoid super-two status. If he plays a bit for the Potomac farm club, I may go down to watch. Moving him through the minor league systems s...

2010 NFBC Draft Dates and Locations Revealed
Kind of a side question after reading these posts.
Random league assignments are a key to league/event integrity. With the use of syndicates, how can random assignment go in concert with the same person not having control over two teams in the same league?

2010 NFBC Draft Dates and Locations Revealed
Lots of reading while I watch the playoffs. I haven't done the main event for a couple of years as the cost to travel and play just is a bit too much especially where the primary reason is the possibility of an overall high finish. On a league by league basis, the satellite leagues have a much bette...

Have to agree. Greg and Tom have provided everyone a degree of security and faith that this event will be professionally run. We have all been in leagues where this was not the case. The first year when entries were not as hoped proved to everyone the Greg and Tom were all around "good guys". You gu...

Tuesday's game
If the Twins and Tigers tie [it looks good right now], their game will be on Tuesday as the NFL invoked the Favre-Rule. I realize there will not be a Sunday FAAB period but can lineups be adjusted. I sort of presumed that our lineups from last Sunday will apply thru any "extra" regular season games ...

he almost assuredly will not be signed before August 17th. I sort of believe the Nats when they say he will not pitch in the Majors this season unless the contract demand it. Realize he will have had a long layoff from the Virgina game and mid-August. In fact, my guess is that he will not come up un...

Strasburg - Where will he be drafted next year?
Is Strausburg a better Max Scherzer?
The hype seems similar. As someone who goes to a dozen or so Nats games, I sure hope he is drafted, signed and then shut down until Arizona fall ball. I also think it may be June before he sees the bigs to slow down his arbitration clock.

I was at the game last evening only 5 rows from the field pretty much in line from the SS & 1B down the 1B side. Now I am not a scout nor claim be have there skills in evaluating players but I would not want Blanton on my fantasy team based on my personal observations from last evening. And I have w...

Twice a Week Moves
I like the current system but sometimes the simplest system is the best. Making moves just once a week truly eliminates all the ways people can manipulate the rules. The reason for the Friday roster exceptions was to protect teams from having to spend the entire week with a dead roster spots. Is thi...

True to me early post, I was away from my computer and life passed me by. My wish to activate Schumaker for Nady is now lost. Don't disagree with the decision but I wish the rules indicated possible exceptions. Do i now need to check all day Friday and Monday for late DLs. I need to now read all the...

and Monday it will be for me as I am likely going to be away form my PC until after games start today. I even moved him to the UT slot so I could make chan...

even the notes for the player say he is on the DL. STATs may have blown this one. Still it does not show up as a transaction at MLB.COM. Could the Yankees still be waiting to actually do it. It would seem that is the case. I guess he remains in my lineup for 3 more days. [ April 17, 2009, 05:56 AM: ...

I never said you wouldn't make money and pay taxes on that money. Hell, I would love to win $5000 in this or more. The question was about how you offset winnings and what is allowed by the tax code. If you read my posts, I did say you could deduct to the extent of winnings. Where and on which form i...
