I wasn't stirring things up for the fun of it. As to the point of I wasn't involved in the situation: My main problem is two-fold with Greg's actions as commissioner, in general, and this particular decision is very illustrative. 1) Value the written rule! Get all rules written as fully as possible ...

As experienced Commissioners know, anticipating problems in advance is a key. Greg totally failed in that regard last Sunday (not the only time so far), and that should serve as a serious wakeup call to him. I hope he might make an adjustment from his apparent "I'll just wait for the issue to arise ...

Cellar,
Your argument clearly is a sound one. It's easy to see why Greg would have no interest in trying to defend the logic in his ruling here. His ruling in this case gives me little confidence in his ability to make fair and appropriate rulings in the future.

Greg/Tom, You realize don't you that this ruling will stay on the message board for a day, and less than a majority of participants will see it or remember it? If it's important enough to announce on the message board, isn't it important enough to add to the Rules? If you go back through the history...

When Should FAAB Deadline Be?
Originally posted by Greg Ambrosius: Mark, I am leaning toward the 6 p.m. CST Sunday deadline for FAAB bids because for the most part all of the weekend games will be done by then with the exception of the one or two ESPN Sunday night games being played. It's there now. Funny thing is the 1st place team didn't even have Posada, but did have Toby Hall, Jose Cruz and Hideki Matsui.

It doesn't seem up yet...
Where should we be looking for it? I'd assume on the league page under "Standings" but when clicking on standings, only league, not overall standings are available.

I play it, and it's a great game. (And very addictive!) I noticed they sent out a special email offer to NFBC participants. I figured 11 others from the NFBC probably are going to take them up on the offer, so I created a "Friends League" you can join to play against other NFBC players, rather than ...

You go to the NFBC website, type in your username and password, up pops your team (you click on it), up pops your league. Now find "Transactions." Click on "Transactions" then "Free Agents." You're now there.

Ron Shandler not the best salesman
Comical: "I am sure he will respond if he deems it necessary." Respond to a bunch of unsophisticated NFBC yokels like us? I highly suspect not. It's surprising that some experts somehow manage to come off as insulting to the very people they are hoping will be their customers. And, similarly, many r...

You could replace all 29 of your players each week, if you wanted to and if you could afford it.

Why the auction drafts were better
An alternative to a 20-25 team mixed auction I think this might solve the hurdles in the way of the NFBC auction leagues eventually getting on the same level with the $100,000 straight draft: If there were a way to determine an overall NFBC Auction Champion to receive an auction grand prize TBD by t...

Your team looks good, Heisman. Maybe you'll win a trophy ;) But you went from declaring that NO punting strategy could possibly work here to quickly admitting that punting TWO whole categories could lead to success, but saying that punting a third category would lead to sure failure (but no one here...

I agree about there's no way to sacrifice 3 categories in the NFBC. Who was even considering that? That = almost no way to win! Sacrificing 2 is hard enough! Wins and K's are ok to lose, maybe, but no more! Urbina looks to have a team today, Baez will save plenty, Herges is a semi-closer now, Damaso...

Makes me happy. I got him in the 14th round in Chicago #2 after practically all closers were gone (even bottom-of-the-barrel types like Looper and Macdougal had gone in the 10th and 13th). A nice $2 value in the NY auction (assuming that was an AL auction). Where did he get drafted in other leagues?

NNoy, I don't care about winning the league. I doubt I will because it's quite likely the league winner will score more than 80% of the possible points. I like this strategy in order to have a shot at the whole ball of wax because it's likely that the overall winner will be below 75% of the total po...
