Re: Belated Congratulations

Given my proclivity for taking cheap shots at the NY Metropolitans, I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to congratulate the Mets & their fans on their first no-hitter in franchise history. Although a combined no-hitter, it was a real, no-Adrian Johnson-blown-call-assisted no-hitter ...

Re: Oz, Coz, and Broken Glass

While many have noted the Wizard of OZ as an allegory about monetary policy and the gold and silver standards as true "money," as opposed to fiat paper as money, the use of the Wizard of Oz as a metaphor for going to Las Vegas for NFBC drafts is perfectly symbolic as well. As we as a society become ...

Re: A Discussion On The Pause Time For Draft Champions Leagues

I don't know what's possible with the system but here's another suggestion. Set it so that no matter the timer, someone can go to sleep at 11 PM ET and wake up at 7 AM PT. For example for a 2 hour DC the clock would pause at 1 AM ET until 8 AM ET for the first 30 rounds and once we reach round 31 t...

Re: A Discussion On The Pause Time For Draft Champions Leagues

Yes, definitely need 8 hour pause, the only question for me is which times are best, which is worthy of further discussion. 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM EST seems like a happy medium but whatever accommodates the majority and the 3 time zones best but I definitely feel 8 hour pause is necessary.

Re: NFBC New Schedule Due To Current Lockout Situation

I can't imagine the stress and frustration that you guys have endured over the past two years. Truly, one thing after another. Yet you persevere. Here's hoping that once this lockout is in the past, the next few years of business are thoroughly predictable and utterly boring. Well said & I endorse ...

Re: 2022 NFBC Las Vegas Will Be Held At The Bellagio

Wear a mask if you want Coz or don't wear a mask. Come naked for all I care. I just want baseball so that we can HAVE FUN at the live events. The rest is all noise to me. I don’t wear a mask since I have been “immunized” with a very high IQ. Unfortunately, for the lower IQ herd-following normies, I...

Re: 2022 NFBC Las Vegas Will Be Held At The Bellagio

I just talked to my contact at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and there is NO MASK MANDATE at the Bellagio as of today. Guests can wear a mask if they'd like, but they are no longer required to wear one. Plan accordingly and now let's fill up Las Vegas. NOW WE JUST NEED BASEBALL!!! :D Have we reached he...

Re: Universal...but sad!

Hallelujah, our long national nightmare of pretending pitchers can hit is over. In 2021, pitchers hit .110/.150/.142. They struck out in 44% of their plate appearances, and in nearly half the ones that didn’t end in a sacrifice bunt. They had nearly five times as many strikeouts as they did hits. ( ...

Re: John Pausma Is The 8th Inductee To The NFBC Hall of Fame

Like most of us, I joined the NFBC because I thought I knew the game and that I would be highly competitive in this format of fantasy baseball . However, it's not until you play in the NFBC against players like John Pausma do find out what competitive fantasy baseball really is. As a player that ha...

Belated Congratulations

As we approach Thanksgiving, I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to congratulate and express my thankfulness for the sad-sack, sorry -excuse for an MLB franchise otherwise known as the N.Y. Metropolitans. Just for this year alone, let us show our gratitude for the following, not nec...

Re: This Is The Final Scoring Period Of 2021 NFBC Season

I made the push for the change for a couple of reasons, but one of them involved fairness. Nobody knows who is going to be in that play in game -- heck, this year it could have been the Yankees or the Red Sox or the Blue Jays or the Mariners or the Dodgers or the Giants -- and nobody knows if a gam...

Re: Discount Packages for 2022

It’s time to bump the $400 DC’s to $500 & make it a stand-alone league with all the prize money in the league & not lumped into toward the Overall with the 150s for those who want to compete for higher league prizes. So you would have 50s, 150s, 500s, & 1000s. If the $50 DCs have their own overall ...

Re: The Vegas Contract League

That said, Coz's stubborn view of THIS league is unfounded. It's a unique concept and rule set that should not be tethered to the 1973 rotisserie chicken ruleset. To accept all the other changes but get hung up on one small element which fits this concept better - already having short time-frame co...

Re: Worst Check Swing Call Ever

Scherzer would still have gotten the out I think, but that check swing strick call to end the came was HORRIBLE! Brutal. Have some situational awareness, Gabe. And to be walking off the field while making the call like his supper was getting cold was an even worse look optics-wise. Really a bad way...

Re: The Vegas Contract League

One minor tweak to the rules after further thought and discussion, the private pool will include an additional $200 per team entry along with draft slot bidding and player salaries. Thus, the absolute minimum a team could spend will be $1250 rather than $1050. This will give the weekly payout a hig...

Hi Greg, Just wanted to clear up a question I had based on the scoring for the hold em game. First time player of the game. For RD1, which sounds like the wild card games(but not 100% sure if they count scoring wise those games) For example, if I start with Chris Sale and he pitches in the wild car...
