Re: One Pitcher on Friday

I stand corrected then. Did not have the desire nor necessary time to re-read the entire thread, so I may have neglected to read earlier posts. There were so many twists and turns trying to appease everyone's little desires and minor inconveniences that we lost sight of the value of the rule. And yo...

Re: One Pitcher on Friday

I know that I may be in the minority of substituting one pitcher on Friday's. I get it. One more thing that'll take time. Invites streaming, blah blah blah... Already in this first week, several teams benched Yu Darvish thinking he wouldn't pitch. Now, he will start on Sunday. A lost start. Then, w...

Re: FAAB Issue w/ IPAD

Dear NFBC brothers and ladies of course... I am having a technical issue that I'm hoping someone may have experienced and/ or knows how to work around. Last year, I had no issue using my IPAD for FAAB. At one point during the NFBKC season, my IPAD began locking up when trying to select a "player to...

Re: Glad to see everyone again!

All this talk of the draft screens is much ado about nothing. Been reading about these Draft screens for so long that I thought it would be an issue. This was my first draft with them and they are fine, more than fine. They are no more difficult to read than the stickers. Yeah, HD screens would be g...

Ha. Great Opening Day observations. Enjoyed that. Re: Mike Trout.... in the online Primetime Sunday someone took Cabrera over Trout with #1 pick. Historically great first two years, 23 years old with 30 HR power and 40 steal speed with a short, compact stroke that results in line drive after line dr...

Re: chicago auction

I must say.... and I'm not one to fan the rumor mill (ok, that's a lie)....BUT....the Drafts in Chicago were located minutes from the STATS home office... And as we began the Auction in Chicago there was a group of 7-8 strangers huddled in the back. I even said to Jack Haan, sitting next to me, who ...

Re: chicago auction

Greg, They did fix the last two rounds but the fix for Gregory Polanco is still incorrect. They originally had entered Placido Polanco. I spoke with Javier today and he said it was fixed but it is not. It was "fixed," but Gregor Blanco was entered incorrectly instead of Gregory Polanco. At your conv...

I noticed that too. My last two picks should be Gordon Beckham and Jose Tabata. Also, I have Gregory Polanco NOT Placido Polanco.

Good one DH. I enjoyed it. Like a homeless puppy, Deadheadz is just looking for some MB love and acceptance.

Re: The Latest FAAB Update On Improvements

Nice. Please make sure the ability to "copy" bids remains. Hopefully, this most essential and basic function remains and does not get lost amongst the new bells and whistles. As much as everyone complains about the FAAB, even the old FAAB was far superior to many other FAAB systems out there includi...

Re: Q&A or Just B.S. With Greg & Tom Here

I was in Chicago last week for meetings with the IT team and the plan is to have the new FAAB ready for the first week of bidding. We went over the items that were discussed on your thread and have it in the works to update the entire FAAB process. It's not completely done yet and it will be tested...

People still do mock drafts? How cute. I long for the days when ADP was determined by Mock Draft Central and people actually gave that relevance. Compltely different animal when no skin in the game.

Get your focus back on the $1000 DC, Michael and get this bad-boy moving. Christie-Manger are on the clock and probably konked out while I am caught right behind them and ready to pick. And not exactly sure why I am picturing this: http://eatwatchrun.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/planes-trains-and-aut...

Re: Always Regression, Never Progression...

In the book Moneyball, you would clearly be in the "old-time" scouts camp. Shandler had an awesome self-deprecating response to the whole Mike Trout regression theory in the beginning of this year's Forecaster. Not sure why Shandler generates so much negative response generally, I always appreciate ...

Re: Main Event Breaks

Great point about the drafts in the same room breaking at different times and the ensuing noise absolutely overwhelming the on-going draft. Maybe all drafts break at the same time to avoid distraction? Reminds me of last week eating lunch at Potbelly's at 11:30 AM and there were like 5 people eating...

Re: End of an Era - Jeter to Retire at end of 2014

The most overrated player in baseball history? Merely a "very good" player? I'm not even a Jeter fan nor a Yankee fan, but damn, are we so jaded and anti-anything-beloved-by-the-masses that we cannot appreciate his greatness? Little surprised by the haters. Per the pure numbers, not even including h...

Re: End of an Era - Jeter to Retire at end of 2014

Consistent. Winner. Class. The Captain. Growing up in Chicago (and initially feeling Jeter was just a product of the NY hype machine), I never really appreciated what a great leader Jeter was and how much he meant to those great Yankee teams until I read "The Yankee Years," by Joe Torre and Tom Verd...
