Re: Draft Champion Leagues
An interesting read. Both previous posts. I think the solution is more options for those who want clocks of 30-90 minutes. Plus perhaps DC drafts with the overnight pause based on the Pacific time zone too. Drafters who are taking their first stab at an NFBC slow draft seem to want the slower pace a...

Re: Week 1 Scoring Period To Start The 2018 Season
Here’s a puzzler for you:
If we have a hitter whose team is off Friday in an active roster spot, can he be replaced Saturday with another player whose team did not play Friday?
That’d be a first, I think

Re: Draft Champions Leagues: Set Your Queues NOW!!
Really glad I stuck 20 players in my queue. I wasn’t aware of this message from NFBC (I’m sure at least half those in my league don’t even read the forums) so I was surprised to see the clock running at 05:45 CT today. Only a couple of rounds had gone thru since I went to sleep earlier. I wasn’t on ...

Re: First faab
I’ve heard Alex Cobb will be optioned to the minors to get prepared to join the Orioles rotation.
This means he’s available in today’s FAAB but if not called up before next Sunday he won’t be biddable in leagues where he’s a free agent.
Is that correct?

Re: Slow pokes and Draft Champion Leagues
Our DC is still in round 34. When I asked in Chat if we could pick up the pace please, one manager said: “maybe slow drafts aren’t for you”. Any slow draft that’s still got a clock longer than 1 hour and more than 10 rounds to go should be throttled up today. We need to get these done before opening...

You could call him lucky.
But imagine how lucky he is if he took Bumgarner at pick 31 in every league.
Luck is relative.

Re: NFBC Random Slot Generator BLOWS
this is why all main event leagues should be blind bidding on your draft slot. we apportion free agents that way. should be the same process for draft slots. we don't assign free agents "randomly". if someone can explain how having some owners/partners receiving multiple #1 main event picks this ye...

Re: Slow pokes and Draft Champion Leagues
Or you could just use Auto? Idk just a thought? Sure. But it’s some of the same people who asked for the overnight pause who say “there’s no way in hell I’m going on auto when there’s more than 3 picks ahead of me”. I guess rather than getting the players they want they’re a slave to ADP and don’t ...

Re: DC draft rooms down?
Seems like some people think the DC draft rooms are down.
No one makes picks during the clock pause and more than one owner times-out during the daytime.
Round 15 of a 2-hr Draft Champions league.
We’ll need to adjust the clock to 1-hr sooner or later, so why not sooner?

Re: Slow pokes and Draft Champion Leagues
It just takes one owner who works a job where phones aren’t allowed to cause a speed bump during daytime draft hours. I know at least one guy in our current DC who is west coast. They want to keep the clock running later. Would it improve the situation if there were a choice of leagues based on cloc...

Re: Slow pokes and Draft Champion Leagues
Just became apparent at least one owner in my league was under the impression you can’t make picks while the clock is paused overnight. If there’s a misunderstanding of the clock pause by 1 or more in every league it explains a lot. How can NFBC get the word out to newbies to let them know to keep m...

Re: quality starts VS wins
If managers keep pulling SP after 3rd time thru the lineup, QS will dwindle and disappear except for a few workhorses. In a game with no ties, there will always be a Win. Always 2,430 wins in a season give or take a few rainouts/snowouts etc. Finding them is part of the challenge. Do any of the NFBC...

Re: Slow pokes and Draft Champion Leagues
Not sure about other leagues but in my last 2 there have been nearly half who are totally new to NFBC. It’s probably got a lot to do with the casual attitude toward making prompt picks. The overnight pause seems to bring the idea “if it’s after 8pm and I’m not on deck there’s no reason to log in til...

Re: Waiting for news
Cut line started 3 days ago. We are on pick 72. I'm done with these leagues. I just can't understand why you sign up to draft and then literally don't pay any attention to the draft. It's bullshit. Just like the MLB wants to capture the casual fan, NFBC wants to capture the casual drafter. I think ...

Re: Waiting for news
Cutline 4-hr started 108 hours ago, we’re waiting for pick 124.
Two or three owners are setting their Auto-1 frequently so it’s the rest who average more than an hour per pick.
Ridiculous.

First 2018 Scoring Period(s)
NFBC Brass, Just getting our spreadsheets setup and was curious how the first Cutline scoring period will look. Is it going to be one scoring period for Thurs-Sunday when the season starts or will that 4 day stretch be combined with the first full week to make an 11 day scoring period? Also, for rot...
