Re: Vegas Room Deals
A number of properties have Cyber Monday sales, so today is a good day to book a room. You can always cancel for a refund of your deposit if you find a better deal later. I booked a room at the Monte Carlo which was 20% off today. It's an easy tram ride or a 10-15 min walk from the MC through the Ar...

Re: Live Chat With Greg & Tom, Friday, 3 pm ET
When will the new draft room be ready? Can you offer mock drafts using the new software so we can get used to the new interface before facing a 60 second clock in a pay league?

If you want to look at draft results without the contract league being considered, click on the "slow drafts" option under the "By Draft Type" heading near the top of the page.

What about Jose Reyes? He was placed on the DL on April 14, transferred to the 60-day DL on April 23 and his first game back was on June 26.

Re: Looking For Feedback On Sunday FAAB Deadline
I'm in the central time zone, so a 8pm ET FAAB deadline cuts into Sunday dinner. Not only would my wife and kids greatly appreciate a later deadline, it would also make taking on an additional FAAB league more feasible.

So then is the FAAB deadline staying at 8pm Eastern or is still still subject to change?

Re: Overall Main Event Grand Prize Increases to $200,000 in
What makes this so difficult is that the *primary* reason why people play in the Main Event differs. - Some play for the grand prize. - Some play for a positive expected value. - Some play for the thrill of competing in a league against the best in the world. - Some play for the camaraderie/friendsh...

Re: Possible NFBC Cutline Championship In 2014
What about increasing roster size by 1 player each scoring period? Rather than FAAB, players would be picked up by waiver wire, with order determined by reverse order of standings (similar to tiebreakers now). It's basically one free agent per period with the allowance for players to pick up more th...

Re: Insurance Players
I'll be making a claim for the third year in a row: Wright in 2011, Longoria in 2012 and Reyes in 2013. Anybody else have a similar track record of "success?"
But I certainly can vouch that FSI comes through!

Re: Tie Breaker-Do the stats count?? Can we set rosters??
Having a new scoring period is 100% consistent with how the first period worked, where there was just one Sunday night game and everyone was allowed to set their lineup to account for just that game.

Re: NFBC Rules Changes For 2014
Can you please clarify: I understand that under the proposed rule, if a pitcher hasn't pitched as of Friday, you would be able to move him from your active roster to your bench and replace him with another pitcher. However, would it also be required that the newly activated pitcher also not have pit...

Re: Rule Changes- 2014
If this change were implemented, I'd expect that most people would use the Friday swap ability to bench a SP not scheduled to start over the weekend with a SP that is. Sure there are exceptions as previously outlined, but I think they would be just that - exceptions. In fact, I think that this would...

Re: Weekly, Daily Lineups
I suspect/fear that such a format would require 90%+ of the time that normally goes into a league with daily lineup moves (made daily) but without the benefit of being able to make a lineup change when my player suddenly gets a "scheduled" day of rest. Even worse, I'd have to do 3-4 days of analysis...

Re: Looking For Feedback On NFBC Draft Champions
I really like the idea of the personal clock if technically feasible. If you gave every team 50 hours (an hour per pick), the longest the draft could possibly last is about four and a half weeks. I suspect the draft would actually finish sooner than that as some (if not many) teams wouldn't use near...

Re: Poll: iPhone vs Droid
It will be interesting to see the results on this. I'd expect that somebody in the STATS IT department would be able to capture how often the NFBC team pages are being loaded by Android, iOS and other mobile operating systems. Not that they should - they have better things to do with their limited t...

Re: KDS
There were just too many leagues to be posting the KDS every day. Heck, I struggled to keep up with the draft results, which I thought was more important for you folks. Not only that, but KDS was automated this year so the computer did this quickly for us each day. Something had to give this year w...

KDS
I recall that last year, Greg would often post some anonymous KDS preferences and results. This year, I didn't see that. Besides the fact that the team was super busy running 100+ DC leagues, I suspect that part of the reason was more people than ever were going straight 1-15. Did anyone else notice...

Re: Early Slow Draft Observations
I have no expectations being able to easily follow a draft from my iPhone. When needed, I've been able to log on and make a pick, so I'm happy here. One thing that's been raised in the past and worth mentioning again is the "green dot" issue in flash mode - unless you refresh the browser, you don't ...
