Re: Live 2021 Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

Sounds great, Greg. Very happy that, at least as of now, we're slated to get a full MLB season with an on-time start date. Especially looking forward to the NFBC's live drafts in NYC and Vegas. Always an awesome time. It's like Christmas in March for me! Hope you/we can pull it off.

Re: Slow Draft Suggestions

Actually, just to clarify, I’m pretty sure that if you Auto draft for Round 20, it will work as follows: (a) it will draft the top player in your Round 20 queue; (b) if none left, it will draft the top player in your general, “All Rounds” queue; and (c) if none left, it will draft the top player in ...

Re: Slow Draft Suggestions

Pretty sure that if you are on Auto and your queue is empty, you will draft the top guy in the default list. It’s never happened to me, but that’s my understanding.

Re: Slow Draft Suggestions

That's good to know for the queue by round. Maybe someone else can confirm? As for the 2 AM I do get the west coast thing but pausing the clock doesn't stop them from drafting. I assumed I wasn't the only one because most drafts i've seen, the pace really slows down after Midnight ET so it seemed l...

I’d be up for a DC Auction in December if there was interest in that format.

Re: Drafting Without Making a Pick

Just wanted to quickly weigh-in and support your position that there should be some greater penalty for timing out without anyone in your queue. I would prefer to see a single default list without updates be used. I would rather have folks have to search for players that may be lower on the list tha...

Another vote for $1,200 entry fee, $5,000 top league prize, and $100,000 top overall prize. Like others, I'll also be grabbing multiple Main Event teams.

Nice job today, guys. Impossible situation handled really well.

Re: Is it time to move on to next year... ?? Fu*k Fauci

“Looking more and more like there will be no Baseball season?” Not sure I agree with that. I have to believe owners and players will work it out, rather than the alternative...NOTHING and risk jeopardizing a % of the fan base for next year. As for me, I’m very much looking forward to the season and...

Re: Dylan Carlson

Well, I certainly understand why you're still drafting! Man, life without sports is just not as much fun. In a normal May, I can't even imagine how much time I spend thinking (obsessing?) about baseball and my fantasy baseball teams, although I'm sure it would horrify the rest of my family if they k...

Re: Surly and Slowly

Totally agree, Dan. In this age of smart phones, e-mail notifications, and the advanced capability of Auto (which now lets you set-up different queues by round), there's no excuse for being habitually slow round after round. Yes, life (and shit) happens, and sometimes more time is needed. In my expe...

Now, that was fun. Started at 6 pm EST and knocked out almost 22 rounds the first night. Most guys were hanging out in Zoom chatting and BS’ing for the bulk of the evening. Great idea by MTM and a fun lockdown distraction.

Hey, Greg. Quick question. I recall you indicating previously that the NFBC would be adjusting minimum innings pitched levels assuming we have a baseball season. That makes sense, as does waiting to know how long any season might be before deciding what those levels should be. Apologies if you've co...

Re: Empty Stadiums and Full Drafts

Great post, Dan. This has been the most challenging season to prepare and draft for from a fantasy perspective. Remember when we were stressed out about not knowing what type of ball MLB would be using? LOL. We went from that to not knowing when the season would start, to now readjusting everyone to...

Greg - Have the dates been chosen for the $150 and $500 Auctions/DC (the non-FAAB) leagues? Can’t seem to find them; I apologize if they’re posted and I’m just missing them. Definitely would be interested in ones at both price points, preferably on a Saturday or Sunday evening. Thanks.

Awesome, Dan. Great job. You, indeed, are the poet laureate of fantasy baseball.

Your selection also is apropos. For many of us, including me and you, the NFBC live drafts truly are “Christmas in March,” and we surely have been robbed this year.

Re: Best Baseball Memories

Great question. Was just chatting about this very recently. For me, it was October 6, 1978. Attending my first Yankees play-off game. Seats in the nose bleeds. It was Game 3 of the ALCS, Royals at Yankees. Series was tied 1-1. Yankees wound-up winning 6-5 in a thriller. Had to look up the date and s...
