Re: Las Vegas Park MGM Plans For March 19-25
Greg - This sounds fantastic. The NFBC puts on awesome live events and the NYC and Vegas draft weekends are my favorite times of the year. After a long winter of online drafts and preparation, it will be great to be drafting live again and seeing everyone. Safe travels, fingers crossed, and Vegas ca...

Re: FAAB-U-LESS
Like the idea, Dan. I’d try it. Like the idea of another FAAB-less format. I currently limit my FAAB leagues to the live events, and see this concept as a change of pace from the DC format, which I love. Not positive about the low IP floor if all stats count, but follow your thinking. While I might ...

Re: Rules for 2020
I’d support changing the rules to end the season after Game 162. I agree that any lead or ranking changes occurring due to a play-in game is more a function of luck than skill. The season-long grind is long enough without the finish line being pushed back an extra day or two at the very end. Also, ...

Re: Would There Be Interest In NFBC Leagues With 3RR?
No objections if you want to experiment with it in some satellite leagues, but personally I'd have no interest in adopting 3RR more broadly. I do not see any need for 3RR in baseball, and it sounds like your data supports that year after year. If I was forced to play in a league with 3RR (because no...

Re: Next Year is Coming Fast
Sorry if I missed it somewhere in this thread, but has the NFBC made a decision yet as to how Ohtani and potentially other two-way players will be treated in 2020? If so, do tell. Also, along the lines of the thread of this title - "Next Year is Coming Fast" - just curious if there are plans in pla...

Re: 2020 MLB Season Opener: Thursday, March 26th
Now, who's joining us in New York City and Las Vegas? Mark your calendars and let's go!!! Hello! Love seeing some hard dates ... makes the live drafts somehow appear sooner. Barring death or calamity, I intend to draft in NYC and Vegas next year. Two of the best weekends of the year ... Christmas i...

Re: Updated Tech Changes
Helluva night for FAAB. Largest run of the year. 19,027 claim lists, 57,784 items. All done in a blistering 2:45. Well done by our IT job providing lightning fast results. Agreed. Love the lightening pace of FAAB in recent weeks. Last night, in particular, it would have been tough waiting on the re...

Re: Updated Tech Changes
Agreed. When I go into mobile to look at my teams' lineups, the schedules still are not showing up unless and until you click a box. I think the default should be to show the lineups with the schedules. We need a fix so that the default always shows schedules, or somehow allow owners to elect that a...

Do Lineups Lock Tonight For Teams That Are Off Today?
Unlike other Fridays, a number of teams are off today. So, do hitting lineups lock for all teams tonight, or do we have until Saturday's games before teams that are off tonight get locked? I'm just not sure if Friday is an automatic lock or if we treat the games like a Monday/Tuesday where the lock ...

Re: Tomorrow
Well said, Dan. Missed you in Vegas this year. I hope to catch you there next year. What your post highlights is that while most people enjoy four seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall), us fantasy baseball fanatics only really have two seasons - drafting season and baseball season. One is concludin...

Re: MGM Park Las Vegas: Let's Hear The Feedback
I thought the MGM Park worked out great as a venue. Perhaps the only negative, as mentioned above, is that the rooms were not quite as opulent as those at the Bellagio or Vdara in which I've stayed previously. Still, compared to New York City hotel rooms to which I am more accustomed, the rooms at t...

Re: Dirty Dozens Is Officially CANCELLED For 2019
I wanted to make sure the old Dirty Dozens thread got the post that this contest was cancelled, but if you have thoughts on the single-entry format going forward please post them in this thread. Let's use this thread to talk about what would be needed in 2020 to have a single-entry national contest...

Re: 14 Spots Left: March 16 1 pm ET NY Main Event
If there is anyone out there on the fence about joining us in NYC, I just want to say that the NFBC live events are an awesome time. While drafting on-line can be a lot of fun, it really does not compare, at all, to the live drafting experience. The NFBC puts on top-notch drafts, and it is great to ...

Re: For The Love of Baseball, JUST STOP!
And today we get the obligatory "mystery teams" involved blurb. Oh, when will our suffering end? Seriously, at this point, I couldn't give a crap where Harper, Machado or Kimbrel land. As long as their teams are known before the live drafts, I'm good. I immediately turn off MLB network on the radio ...

Re: Hot Stove
Don't understand this one at all. As a Yankees fan, did not see it coming, either. Ironically, just yesterday, I was making fun of the Mets' Lowrie signing with a Mets fan friend and fellow NFBC'er. Was puzzled why the Mets would sign (and at a high price) an unneeded 2B for two years. One day later...

I'm a huge Yankees fan and a big supporter of Brian Cashman, but I hate the Britton signing. I don't get why people say he was "pretty good" with the Yankees. He was horrible. And he was horrible before he got to the Yankees. And he was horrible the year before that. Does anyone watch him pitch ? D...

Re: Hot Stove
Grandal reportedly to the Brewers for one year, $18.25 million. Now, I would love to be paid $18.25 million for a year of work, but if Grandal really received and turned down a 4 year/$60 million offer, that was one hell of a miscalculation on his and/or his agent's part. Kudos to the Brewers for go...

' Robertson to Philly perks up our ears. If Soria goes to Oakland or Familia goes to the Mets, we say, "Big friggin' deal". We know they're not closing. Robertson has a chance to Close. His stock will go up in drafts from near the 20th round to most likely, the 11th or 12th round. He may have compe...
