Re: Next Year is Coming Fast

The best thing about the 2020 season will be the end of 40 man rosters in September. Starting next year, rosters will expand to 28 players instead. Baseball was the only sport that drastically changed the rules of their game for the final month of the regular season.

We're not even halfway there yet. Come on, put down your football rankings and take a shot at this 35 for 1 payout.

Four spots left. Still time for a sell out.

Re: Next Year is Coming Fast

I know that in the future, we will have approached Ohtani in the wrong way. Zack Greinke would never, ever be started as a hitter in NFBC leagues. Ohtani is and will again next year. My argument is clearly falling on deaf ears. Thanks for the listen. I'm not comparing the two but I'm saying there's...

Re: Next Year is Coming Fast

I'm with you as far as recognizing Ohtani for the fantastic and unique talent that he brings to our game. I also agree that any player's value will be baked into his draft price. I only mentioned Gretzky because he was the only guy who was ever capable of tilting the playing field, or ice if you wil...

Re: Next Year is Coming Fast

I would think it's purely a technical issue as opposed to Ohtani being too valuable. The only example of a player being so dominant be broke his fantasy format was Wayne Gretzky in his prime. The solution for many leagues was splitting him into two players and you could draft Gretzky (goals) or Gret...

Is there a way to tell what percentage a player is owned without looking on each team roster?

Re: Who Were Your First Fantasy Picks EVER?

My first roto baseball team was in a pitiful little six team NL Only auction league back in 1989 with a laughably corrupt commissioner, but I mostly took it in stride because I was finally playing the game I had read about and wanted to play for so long. My partner and I went in targeting Mike Scott...

We only need six more for a sellout.

35 to one payout and an excuse to go to Vegas in March. :D

I love the concept of giving out Free Main Event entry but I think they have to be Draft Champions contests to generate significant interest.

Re: Win 2020 Main Event Entry In Tuesday's $50/50 Teams Contest

I'm a big fan of these and obviously helps to win but would be a shame to end them. Maybe give it one more try at $50 with 40 teams but just the Main Event Entry (no other prizes) or keep a prize for 2nd place but do $60 with 40 teams? Also maybe Friday nights would be better than Tuesday. We have ...

35 to one payout, but you gotta be in it to win it.

Thanks, Greg. I think the baseball contests will prove as popular as football, which has an advantage in the amount of tinkering time you get with your lineups. :)

For perspective on Markakis, during the 2007 draft season, the two young outfielders that everybody loved were Nick Markakis and current Twins manager Rocco Baldelli.

Re: Win $600 In Tuesday's NFBC $25/50 Teams Contest

Chris Cosley finished second to win $300 and Raymund Chung finished third to win $200. We may try another $25 contest this Tuesday with the same parameters to see if there's enough interest for this format before jumping into the $50 price range. Thanks and good luck all. Thanks, Greg.
