Meatloaf!
I remember those early years in the NFBC where Meatloaf gave the events, contests, and the entire act of being a fantasy baseball buff....well, Meatloaf gave us some of his panache! A rock legend...we are less without him! "Marvin Lee Aday, better known as Meat Loaf, has died at the age of 74, a rep...

Re: IFB
Agreed Dan. I was looking at IP per game started (Oooo...this guy averaged 5.8 IP per start! He's a keeper) as well as average # pitches per IP (any pitcher even near 15 pitchers per IP is a "control" pitcher) Pitchers per game? How may pitchers averaged 100 pitches per game last year? A) 12 B) 18 C...

Carlos Rodon
Rodon faded late on an otherwise awesome season. The White Sox (unless there is an offended group of woke hosiery that is petitioning MLB to force Chicago to change their name) did not offer him a qualifying offer. Strange to me or just how bad is his arm?

What, three years $130m for a (great) pitcher who will turn 38 by the end of July? What could possibly go wrong?

Re: Mets General Manager
Ha! I, but surely not the Mets, had forgotten about Bonilla. Made me go look it up... Bonilla last played for the Mets in 1999 and last played in the majors for the Cardinals in 2001, but he will be paid through 2035 (when he'll be 72). In 2000, the Mets agreed to buy out the remaining $5.9 million ...

Mets General Manager
I recently got my hands on the written test Steve Cohen is giving to Mets General Manager candidates: Question 1: A baseball is: 1) Generally round. 2) Generally square. 3) An unverified concept. 4) Give me enough money, I will make it any shape you want. Question 2: How may Mets will be on the fiel...

Re: 2022 NFBC Early Draft Results
Tidbits. A few (very) early patterns. An average team, after six rounds, has two SP, and one each OF, MI, CM. The sixth player is half the time a CL with catcher, second MI, or second OF rounding out the "typical" team. Alphabetically, the ten consensus first rounders are: Bichette Burnes Cole Guerr...

Re: NL Manager of the Year Finalists
You are right Dan, of course. Writers today (unfortunately) have no clue as to the right answer, only what is today's flashy penny.
It just seems like Atlanta continues to ostricized by MLB for doing the right thing. My grapes are sour, my milk curdled, the fur on my back is brisled!

Re: Phil Dussault's Great Season
The dual ace theory has been a around for a number of years now. Phil added the theory of drafting trusted closing arms early to his team building with the hopes of saving free agent spending and bench spots on his roster. Last year, he found multiple aces after the first five rounds, allowing him ...

Re: NL Manager of the Year Finalists
Agree Braves had the last laugh Dan and Snitker will trade a Manager of the Year nods for a World Series win any day, but not sure I agree with your analysis. The Braves took the NL East lead on August 14th I think after 119 games played and kept it over the next 43 games or a bit more than a quarte...

NL Manager of the Year Finalists
So the guy who managed a team that lost its starting catcher for more than half the season, lost the clean-up hitter to a domestic violence incident, lost arguably the best player in baseball and lead off hitter on July 11th for the season, but yet won the division, the LDS, the LCS, and World Serie...

Thanks Train! I helped alot. Without all that butt english while sitting in my Lazy-Boy, those Braves homeruns would never had made it over the wall!
Now if the Georgia Bulldogs can complete THEIR championship run, it will truly have been a good year!

How should I end this season?
Geography is a given (i.e. in the crapper). Started weak and dropped like a cheap of socks. But can have some fun. Should I get: Seth Beer - Sounds like a made up name to put on the back of a Frat Softball team. But still, a guy named "Beer" on your fantasy baseball team. Just fits... Lars Nootbaar ...
