Thanks, Dave.
Thought I was losing it for a minute there. Thought I would have to relent and start playing (SHUDDER!) Fantasy Football!

Power Outage
I recognize I did not draft any real huge power studs like Pujols or Roberts, but I did think I drafted a solid team of a few 30+ candidates (Matsui, Rolen, Green) with 15 to 20+ pop (Millar, Ibanez, Vidro, Posada, Casey, Cruz) and more with double digit potential (Renteria, Stewart). Dispute if you...

Actually, the kid was really impressive in spring training and was pitching well in the minors. He reminds Bobby Cox of Greg Maddux.

D in Dotel stands for DL
I hear you MGBMARTY. The last couple of weeks Herges hasn't been bad, but has not been striking anyone out either. Not sure if they will give him the ball if he can't reach back for a little extra and get that much needed K. I am holding on (like you more out of embarassment than anything else) and ...

Frustration
Oh, yes. Situational frustration, MLB managers leaving my starters in for the 7th, 8th, or 9th inning after they have reached 100+ pitches like yesterday with Eaton. Big lead, 100+ pitches, and he gets one out in the 7th, but allows a run and three base runners. Doooh!

Frustration
My big frustration is lack of wins from my starting pitching. The five (Eaton, Capuano, Lowe, Millwood, and Bush) that I have used the most (four have been in the entire season) have YTD combined stats of: 250.0 IP, 40 GS, 246 H, 68 BB, 97 ER. This generates 180 K's, 3.492 ERA, and a 1.256 WHIP. Not...

Mixed emotions
Eaton, Capuano, Bush
22.2 IP, 19 H, 0 BB, 16 K, 6 ER, 2.382 ERA, 0.838 WHIP.
No complaints, but this is how my season is going. Great stats, only one win out of three quality starts.

Scott Podsednik And Stolen Bases
I have never been a fan of Podsednik (one of those one dimensional criticizers), but the most amazing thing to me is the .387 OBP. When he stole 70 last year, it was a less than marginal .313. Some were saying his power numbers would be up given his home ball park. That hasn't shown, but who cares! ...

Best way to blow a season.
On Rolen, yes, there were concerns about his shoulder (as there were concerns over Pujols foot, etc.) But this injury I think can be considered a bit freakish...after all, what are the odds of running into a Korean brick wall way over here in the US! I do not have Schmidt, and yes he has an injury h...

Best way to blow a season.
I do not know about the worst, but in this early part of the season, I certainly did not expect Rolen, Renteria, Dotel, Casey, and Matsui to be THIS bad. There is still time to turn it around (thats right, Wayne, keep telling yourself that).

Forget all those post-season and Bambino curses on his shoulders every time he went into a ball game late last year....NOW you have him scared!

There will be a weekly meeting every Thursday night at 7:00 in the community center located in Collectivedumbasses, USA for those of us who spent big FA bucks on Matt Herges to see him get lit up in the 7th or 8th inning (i.e. he is long since in the showers by the time the 9th comes around) this la...

Seven is the right number for me. Yes, the FA pool is thin after the first few weeks when people cull their late round draft foul ups, but seven allows a little space for a DL and/or a project (ML) or two. One more roster spot will not alleviate serious DL problems. There will always be someone want...

Where are all you Taveras bashers??
He was available in Chicago # 2, too (according to the % Owned information, he must still be available in one league as he is 95.2% owned) and I popped big bucks to get him. I like his eight steals since I put him in (Week 2). I missed his blistering first week (opted for Vizquel instead...not bad a...

FIVE - is this enough FAAB for the rest of the way
In Chicago #2, the lowest has 542 left (mainly spent on Brower - $226, and T. Jones - $115) followed closely by me (spent on W. Taveras - $201, Herges - $188, and J. Tavarez - $51). Everyone else has more than $700 left.
