Daily DL?
Members can check EVERYDAY for DL'ed players but can't make lineup changes twice a week?
Doesen't this take us closer to daily moves than a twice a week lineup?

I watched the first part of the game. Mench could have walked to third, Wells didn't even give him a casual glance. As for the earned run, it is left to the official scorer's discretion. His probable interpretation is this: Mench is on first with a single He steals a base, he's on second He's balked...

Crazy Like a Fox - I GUARANTEE I WILL WIN MY SATELLITE
Commonalities of my two year old grandchild and Fox/Dog- 1. The constant need for attention. 2. Always crying when scolded. 3. By watching Mighty Mouse, they feel like they ARE Mighty Mouse. 4. They think that one month is like six months. 5. Both will say the words, "Look at me, Mommy!" at least fi...

Twice-a-week moves?
With this change we would prepare our teams for each series, much like MLB Managers. Lets face it, the "work" that is put in is mostly gone to waste due to rainouts and rotation changes during the week. A rainout in Boston on Tuesday and that planned matchup of your hitter going 25-50 with 7 home ru...

Branyan goes on the bereavment list an hour before Friday's games. Probably not a big loss, but another example on how twice-a-week moves could benefit a team.

I am 100% for this idea. In fact I proposed this change last week on the 'I like the Friday DL rule' thread, but didn't get much of a response except from KOQ, who thought it would be too much extra work. Its a change that is needed with the coddling of players by Managers. Swisher, Thome, Hunter, a...

This time of year some teams are marveling at how good or how bad their teams are performing. Most likely their team is not as good or as bad as they may think. Currently, four teams are hitting .300 or better. Only one team has hit .300 over the course of a whole year, that being George Kleeman's '...

Podsednik was not dropped by any teams involving the overall. Lidge has lost his job and is no better than having a CIW on your roster.. Barfield is a tricky call for Greg. As for the first 6-8 rounds being automatic, that is getting too close to the Yahoo no drop list for me. Leave it to the guy wh...

I like the Friday DL rule
[/qb]
Still too much roster tinkering here. With only 3 or 4 games per transaction period, you would be able to play lefty/righty matchups, historical averages, etc. with all of your offensive players. You would end up over-emphasizing the importance of reserve hitters. [/QB]
Hopefull...

I like the Friday DL rule
Usually when injuries are discussed it comes off as whining or a "woe is me" type post. But I think Sack's post carries merit. It might benefit Soriano owners more to have him on the DL. To use Sack's example, not only do Podsednik owners get three productive days from the bench, they KNOW that he w...

As was stated before everybody has their bad prognostications. Here's another.
He never pitched in 2006 due to various ailments, including a sore elbow. He's a high risk investment and A SURE BET to open 2007 on the DL..... Ron Shandler on Carl Pavano

If I am reading it right, it looks like the stats from the suspended game was entered into the overall stats but not on our daily stats. Maybe STATS entered them with the 4/10 stats, in that case it wouldn't be availale, visually, on our stats for today. I do see that they have Cordero for three sav...

Getting back to nicknames, in College we nicknamed a teammate "Hung" because he was just that. Parents and fans thought we were calling him "Hon" short for Honey. We didn't correct them. Bert "Be Home" Blyleven was my favorite Berman nickname.
If there is one player in baseball that should have a nickname it should be Jose Reyes.
The "Mad Hungarian" would probably not be politically correct anymore. The "Dominican Dandy" would probably be ok though.

Nicknames have become a lost art in the 2000's. There are players who still have their monickers. Rocket, Big Papi, Big Unit are still kicking in the bigs. Nicknamers have gotten lazy, now there is ARod, O (Orlando Hudson), and Pods. Bring back the non shortened name affiliated nicknames! Donny Base...
