Question from potential newbie

There isn't much I can add beyond what has been said already. I think the competition we have in our field is tough and the event itself is a great deal of fun. I think there's something to be said for being at an onsite draft and being able to look your fellow owners in the eye as the draft unfolds...

In-Season Surprises Spark Strong Finish For Thomas

A fantasy baseball season is often about surprises. Surprises can come in the forms of players who perform better – or, unfortunately, worse – than expectations. They can also come in the form of in-season developments that the owner or owners may not have foreseen. Such was the case for Jeff Thomas...

Shawn Childs and Kevin Deckel celebrated not once, but twice in the NFBC this past season. The duo showed off their fantasy baseball expertise by capturing first-place finishes in Las Vegas League 4 and the Las Vegas AL Auction leagues. It was a unique accomplishment shared by only one other person ...

Jim, what type of procedures were you wondering about? If it's strategy and things like that, I'll leave it to our participants to provide some discussion but if it's from a procedural standpoint Greg or I will be happy to help. As far as draft sites, Greg will be in Vegas. Also, you'll find out the...

Stock-Market Approach Pays Off For Peden In Vegas League 2

Eric Peden utilized some good, old-fashioned stock market tricks when it came to preparing for his NFBC draft this past season. The result was the type of breakout market analysts often can only dream of seeing. Peden’s value-based approach to the league led to a first-place finish in Las Vegas Leag...

Stan, There are a number of great magazines out there. I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that our own magazine -- Fantasy Sports Magazine -- was named the industry's top fantasy baseball magazine in 2002 and 2003. But some other magazines that you might want to check out are produced by our friend...

Mission Accomplished For Seefeldt In Chicago League 1

Aaron Seefeldt was on a singular mission when when he entered the NFBC this year. “My only goal was to win my league. That was it,” he said. Mission accomplished. A strong draft coupled with some season-long strategies he prefers to keep to himself enabled Seefeldt to realize his pre-season goal as ...

Balance Leads Olson To Las Vegas League 5 Title

Balance and a red-hot pitcher were enough to help Clark Olson’s team separate itself from a hotly contested race in Las Vegas League 5 and win the league’s championship. With about a month left in the season, Las Vegas League 5 was a five-team race, but Olson’s team and Team O’Connor separated thems...

Kaye Chases Down Title In Chicago League 2

The thrill of the hunt. That was what Stanley Kaye enjoyed most about the NFBC this year. Of course, the $5,000 prize for winning Chicago League 2 wasn’t too bad either. “Winning the money was great, but the excitement of competing for $100,000 was even more exciting,” said the 65-year-old Kaye, who...

Big Second Half Keys Cushard's NY League 5 Title

Great players are recognized by how well they do in the clutch. Great fantasy teams often have the same attribute. A big stretch run is quite often the key to a successful fantasy season and a league championship. That was definitely the case for Dave Cushard’s team, which won the New York League 5 ...

Locked in a tough New York League 4, Jupinka and the other owners spent the majority of the season in a tough battle for the league prize with several of the teams locked in the competition for the overall prize...

Going right down to the wire to determine the league champion can be stressful in any fantasy league. But when there’s $5,000 riding on things, that isn’t going to be good news for the blood pressure level. But Leonard Ringle not only survived a thrilling finish to the 2004 season, he walked off wit...

Pitching Powers Rastelli To NFBC Grand Prize

After being the front-runner in the NFBC since Labor Day, Artie Rastelli had no reason to believe this past Saturday would be unlike any other Saturday. He assumed it would be a peaceful weekend day where he could enjoy a day of relaxing and enjoying the fruits of his team’s labor with the end (and ...
