Re: Simple Rules for Pitchers / Mid Week Moves
Ok Philippe, Doughboys and whoever is of the opinion that alternatives to current rules will be more time consuming: Under current rules. Lineup changes are possible Monday, Tuesday, Friday (hitters only). Alternative: Player lock instead of team lock, lineup freeze after Tuesday night games, and ma...

Re: Simple Rules for Pitchers / Mid Week Moves
It would actually require a daily look at (in some cases, more than 40) teams. This is why you are not receiving much support here and why this hasn't caught on in the past. No rule will be changed unless supported by the masses. You may get some support if making the rule on a Mon-Fri basis like h...

Re: Simple Rules for Pitchers / Mid Week Moves
I started playing this game last year and put a lot of time into it and it's worth it but any additional rule change that complicates things or is more time consuming will scare people away and that's not good for business. Yes most of the time I follow games and check stats every morning but in th...

Re: Simple Rules for Pitchers / Mid Week Moves
Greg, Why can't this simple rule be implemented: Lock a player when the player plays, not when his team plays. With the technology nowadays, I don't think it's a big burden. This will fix a lot of the issues with DL, especially early in the week when the frustration is higher. Love to hear your thoug...

Re: Let's Compile The Latest Updates In This Thread
The most important stat IMO, cumulative YTD team stats (5x5) used to be on the live scoring page. No changing of page was required. One click and you could go from one category to another. Now live scoring has team only stats and a leaderboard on the left side which tells where you stand and ground ...

Re: Fantasy MVP
Not sure how it cannot be Dozier. Better overall numbers than Trumblo and at a middle infield position. Doz - great season but still we are talking about a 6-7th rounder producing 1st round value. He will definitely make the draft picks All Star shortlist. Villar is a 25th rounder who ended up seco...

Re: Rob Silver Wins 2016 NFBC Main Event
Wow, congratulations Rob. This is an outstanding job. Anytime you can pick up the potential MVP and Cy Young in the first two rounds you know you are in for a good year. It turns into a special year when you pick up the potential AL Cy Young in round 23 and another NL MVP candidate in round 12, plus...

Re: Lets Go Mets!!!
I want to give props to Terry Collins. He is not the best manager in the game we know that. BUT he gets way too much crap from the media when things are not going well. On the other hand, I don't think Terry gets enough credit for his fantastic job with this ballclub so here it is from me: great wor...

Re: May 13th Gameday Thread
Top closer in baseball is (of course) Jeanmar Gomez with 14 saves. Is there more of a surprising performance in MLB? Fernando Rodney has 10 saves, has yet to allow a run, and a shiny whip of 0.93. Drafted round 21. If you have these two guys, you are probably leading saves in your league or close t...

Re: Where's The VALUE In These Guys?
So this year I decided to abide by the strategy: Don't draft a pitcher before the sixth round. In league one, it worked like a charm: started with Salazar 6th round, then Carlos Martinez, Tanaka, Hammel, Quintana (plus got mcCullers and Darvish waiting). So far, so good. In league two, I resisted un...

Re: $$HIGH ALERT$$ Jarrod Saltalamacchia
Mazara bids are just crazy. I got people in my leagues blowing at least half of the budget on him.
Question: If they were so high on him to blow half FA money by week 2, why don't they just take a flier on the guy during the draft?

Re: Ben Paulsen - can someone enlighten me?
I just picked up Y Escobar in Faab so Paulsen goes to the back of the bench for a bit. I still think he has value but until I see him get regular time I will sit on him. There wasn't much available on free agent wire in my league. The broader point is this. No matter how much we mock the Rockies or...

Re: Ben Paulsen - can someone enlighten me?
Frozen Tundra, I have to admit, I have been asking myself the same exact question. It boggles the mind. Reynolds is a proven poor baseball player. He can occasionally hit a long HR and is bad at just about everything else at this point in his career. I cannot understand how he isn't the everyday 1b...

Triple digit bids for Salty?
Are the solo shots worth the average killer? No thanks, I will bid $1 for Curt Casali if I need a catcher. I wish people in my leagues blow triple digit money for him. Means less competition ahead.

Re: Ben Paulsen - can someone enlighten me?
Recognizing sample is really really small - Paulsen has only about 150 career games and about 400 at bats - he has hit more HRs away from Coors in about 20 fewer games. So I don't know that he is mainly a Coors power guy. I drafted him because at the 25th round he seemed the guy with the 1b job lock...

Ben Paulsen - can someone enlighten me?
How Mark Reynolds continues to steal at bats from Paulsen is really puzzling. Paulsen is by no means the second coming of Goldy. But he hits both lefties and righties well - about 270-280 career and is a legitimate candidate to hit 30 HRS. Reynolds hits both lefties and righties about the same - ter...

Is live scoring working correctly?
Not sure if this is browser related or a general issue.
The live scoring for the day is working but the cumulative YTD scoring is not carrying over.
Thanks

Suggestion for the overall standings page
It's been an enjoyable first main event year, despite the fact that my team totally sucked. Live and learn the hard way I guess. Despite my disastrous 2010, I am still leaning towards coming back next year. Apologies if anyone else suggested it in the past but worth bringing up again I think: Overal...

Cold Hard Look #9 Glennrtn X
Great insight on Glenn and Lindy. These retrospectives are really nice reads. I have a reason rooting for GX since not only I am in his league (I am the guy who passed on Pujols and drafted the disaster who became A-Rod), but I am also thrilled to be rooting for a standup guy like Glenn and a suffer...

For those who like the play by plays, here's some gems that will test your sanity: if you're desperate for power, you must love this line: -X flied out to deep center My hitters get that e a few times a day. If instead you have a shaky closer, this sequence could make your evening: - X walked - Y wa...

Ubaldo dropped??
A solution to the problem would be to create a "no drop list" to include the best players of the game, part of which Ubaldo would be right now. I was actually wondering why such list does not exist. The list wouldn't solve the problem completely, but at least address the most important part - mistak...

New name for my team
I am not looking for sympathy, neither I am crying about it.
I am venting a bit that my team can't stay healthy much like say an owner expressing frustration here when his closers blow games.
Hanging tough in the rankings though...things do even out eventually.
