New name for my team

New York Presbyterian seems fitting Forget about putting a string of good performances. My goal is to have my team red-cross free for one day this year. That would quite an achievement. It's like a revolving door. Cruz, Posada, De La Rosa, Blanton, now Hudson. Reynolds may have a foot at that door. ...

Double Jeopardy - Ouch!

That's nothing Glenn, as painful as it is Try living thru a Rich Harden outing man...don't know why I keep trotting that guy out there every week. Funny thing is I'm gonna get a win out of that ugly outing while you get nothing out of Myers and Lindstrom (who would have gotten the W had he lasted lo...

The Mets have no hart

At least not the gritty, American type that the Brewers were willing to give away for a bag of peanuts.

They opted for the French version (Francoeur = French heart) instead that whiffs every other time....

Kendry Morales

Strange day in baseball....a perfect game won by an unearned run, a pitcher almost getting decapitated by a line drive, and a walkoff GS celebration ending with the freakest of injuries...tough break for Morales owners, but season ending injuries are part of sports and this game. Will be hard to ove...

Offensive lineups lock at 2 PM today

Thanks Marty. That is some tough luck with those picks Looks like Nelly will avoid the DL for now. They gotta get some new trainers in Texas pronto. I had no choice but to play him. Now with Arod out (still don't get why he can'd DH) I'm just tempering my expectations for today. There's always a tom...

Because the Cubbies can't play home games under the lights...

I have to give Nelly Cruz a go and hope his hammy allows him to DH.
500 Bid on Sunday [/QB]
Not a chance in hell. I am not draining my FAAB to get a closer in a shitty team whose best days of 2010 could have been in May and who could be sherrilled for chump change by deadline. Then again 12 owners in my league might think differently. Make that about...

Hardy-Johnson could be an interesting interleague Twins-Fish matchup... Of course Johnson will get Hardy all the time This one is pitcher-pitcher but could end up a matchup if the Seattle hurler hit against the Brewcrew...don't know if he is the Owings type Bush League [ May 25, 2010, 12:54 PM: Mess...

Waivers vs History (Millage League 5)

I brought up this issue last night. As a member of this league I noticed Milledge's bid missing in waiver history after the bids were processed.

Tom or Greg:

Can you post Milledge's winning bid in league's waiver history? It is not showing up. NY Classic league 5

Thanks

$400 is crazy, but we've seen crazier things happen. I'm sure most Smoak's owners who shelled some serious money for his services wish they had their money back, although it's still too premature to draw a conclusion on their investment. But almost half of initial budget on Stanton? I'll take a pass.

I agree with waiverwire. The Dotel drop happened in my league by the way. The owner seems to be going with an all-SP strategy as he dropped Frank Fransciso as well and has no other RPs in his roster. I also saw someone drop Grady Sizemore in another league. I don't think Grady should be removed from...

Greg, Lastings Milledge's pickup is not reflected in waiver history in Classic NY - League 5 even though he was picked up. Hopefully Glenn's team did not get him for free. As a side note, Dotel was dropped in our league as well. Since I have not heard any news on Dotel and lately he's been anything ...

[/qb]
At least we know Cecil can handle a AAA ballclub like Seattle. Still, a shut-out through 6 1/3 is nothing to sneeze at. Rzep...whatever...will take a few more starts to get back it looks like. Eveland will be the first to go, or so I have read. [/QB]
Lucky as Seattle is indeed a...

Ah the Injuns...can't stay healthy for long. Choo too can kiss goodbye to the 100 RBI season, which could have been expected when the season started.

Greinke owners must be happy. He can hopefully CG them a few times and avoid being screwed over and over by his royal bullpen.

Nice writeup Wayne.

Lowe didn't get the W but his line was not horrible. 7 IP 3 ER, 1.00 Whip 3 K

Then, he was facing the Mutts so you must be a bit disappointed.

On the other hand, Cecil is burning bridges fast again...could be headed back to AAA when Rzep..something comes back from DL

Rolling Dumb FAAB Pickups Thread

It's crazy....we aren't even a quarter thru the season and in my league 50% of the budgets are gone already. More than half of the teams have blown well over $500 already and a few of them are down to just chump change. Bidding goin on for Holland for example is just not smart. It's not like the kid...
