Re: Other Draft Results?
I'm dying to know what is taking so long for them to fix this. Clearly this comes under the headline of Unnecessarily Frustrating Your Customers.

Re: Sticking To My Guns...A Good or Bad Approach?
It was not 'a plan', it was not 'a quirky method', it was just plain taking the top 10 players on my list when my turn was up with no regard for positions or runs. I don't know, Doughy, this seems like a pretty quirky method to me. I think you said it all when you said, 'After round 10...the player...

Other Draft Results?
Is anybody else able to view draft results from other leagues? A tab was recently added to my draft results page titled: View Different NFBC League: , but when I press on the tab it gives me the option to look at just one league, mine.

Roughed Odor is an MVP Candidate
- He might hit 50 HRs this year.
- He has the quickest hands in baseball.
- He wears what looks like a walking boot while batting.

Re: Sticking To My Guns...A Good or Bad Approach?
I'll post rounds 10-30 in a later post. I hope you named this team "Balls". That's what it took and that's what it showed, especially if you had taken the third catcher (which would have been dumb as balls). Setting aside quibbling over the ranking of 1 or 2 of your players, I'd say you have a soli...

Re: Uh-OH! What a Bummer
Bryant swinging at that pitch is the NFBC equivalent of posting the pull-down tab to look at other Main Event draft results, but including only the drafter's league when pulling down the tab.
Let's go NFBC, I can look at the transactions other leagues are making, but I can't see their draft results?

Re: Uh-OH! What a Bummer
Scratch that, I do have a comment. Kris Bryant swinging on a 2-0 pitch with bases loaded in the eighth inning while down by a single run is inexcusable and meat-headed. His MVP should be revoked because he clearly can't handle the fame, and would rather be a hero than win a game. Incidentally, the p...

Re: Main Event Mistakes
Under No Circumstances Try a Quirk Strategy Don't get me wrong, quirky strategies can lead to a ME Overall Championship...for other teams in your league. Failure by too many teams in one league to produce balanced lineups can help other teams in that league excel across the board. Do not blow your ...

Sorry to leave you guys hanging...but back at it. Bonus Don't Draft a Guy Too Late 6*) Kenley Jansen - ADP of 45 with a high pick of 21. That 21 was yours truly in a recent Online Challenge draft. Take all of the arguments for drafting Kershaw in the top three, the cut those arguments in half and ad...

Main Event Mistakes
With more than 1/3 of Main Event Drafts set to be held tomorrow, there are some draft pitfalls I'd like to advise against falling into, separated into 3 categories: 1) Don't draft a guy too late (or in other words, let somebody else draft your targeted player). 2) Don't draft a guy too early (If you...

Re: Clayton Kershaw = Billy Hamilton (So far...)
So easy to think of Kershaw as being the past Kershaw. Like the back thing never happened. Edit- But it didn't stop me from taking him at 1-5 ;) A game or two before Kershaw went down last year, ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball spent 10 minutes with cameras tracking Kershaw's pregame routine, fawning o...

Re: Main Event Predictions
I believe that Turner will go number one in at least one draft. 3 positions 5 categories Never Failed I believe that some brave soul(s) will pull the trigger. I can see as high as 3, but I have a hard time believing he'd go #1 in a Main Event, if for no other reason than a guy wanting Turner in the...

Re: Clayton Kershaw = Billy Hamilton (So far...)
That means I can find treasure in pitching but less so in hitting so I'm never going Kershaw first round. I can find pitching but *need* hitting. I'm not against all first-round Kershaw scenarios, just the one where the pitching staff falls apart if he falls apart. I considered Kershaw with the 2nd...

Clayton Kershaw = Billy Hamilton (So far...)
An added perk to live drafting the Main Event is getting to see the other live draft boards at the completion of the draft. Drafting online this year, I have only my own draft board to look at and the twitter-posted team of Chris Liss, which interests me because he was drafting from the #2 spot like...

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk
I CAN NOT LOOK AWAY...Not just from Rotoboy's videos, but from Doughy's rage at Rotoboy's arguments. Snap analysis, Rotoboy's video's are like the incarnation of Doughboy's private message board channel. Questionable analysis, bordering on ranting, delivered in a very entertaining manner. That Rotob...

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk
Not sure what makes Doughboys crazier, Joey Votto taking walks or Rotoboy saying value... I'm new to the Rotoboy phenomenon, but I have to say I can't look away. He puts A LOT out there, but I have to give him props, it's pretty tough to talk into the camera for 5-7 minutes at a shot without a scrip...

Good write up. I was in this league with you. Definitely one of the more interesting drafts I've been in since I started playing at the NFBC. I came out feeling like Hell Bent for Leather got the best of us on paper in this one. Of course, if the team is constructed right, that is going to be the c...

Re: ME Draft Chronicle
Thanks, Craig, I like the challenging response. Drafts are an exercise in managing contradiction. Those handful who are world-class do it just a little better. I post this chronicle each year to act as a future reminder to my mindset immediately follow the draft, without letting the season influence...
