NFBC Plans For 2007

We are locking in space for 2007 with the NFBC main event being held on St. Patrick's Day -- Saturday, March 17th -- and the auction leagues being held the day before on Friday, March 16th. The Ultimate Leagues would be held on Sunday, March 18th. We have a signed contract with the Flamingo for ever...

Tampa League 3

Wayne, good post. I NEVER had any question that all 15 owners in this league were equal, dedicated owners and every single one of them had a chance to win. The rhetoric in March was uncalled for. Good luck everyone in this league.

CBC Wins Lawsuit Vs. MLBAM

In a joint press release today from Major League Baseball Advanced Media and the MLB Players Association, the two entities said they would appeal the CBC vs. MLBAM decision. Here's the context of their release: "We are disappointed by the Court's decision yesterday in CBC v. MLBPA and MLBAM. We expe...

CBC Wins Lawsuit Vs. MLBAM

Here's a story I just wrote for our Fantasy Sports Trade Conference newsletter. I'm sure everyone was interested in this: United States Magistrate Judge Mary Ann L. Medler gave a strong opinion today in the CBC vs. MLBAM lawsuit, siding strongly with CBC on every point about the players’ rights of p...

Dan, first of all, all cuts are allowed in the NFBC. We do not tell you how to manage your team. However, when it comes to the overall grand prize, it's important for the integrity of the contest to make sure everyone has an equal opportunity to pick up similar talent. Having a player who is second ...

This weekend I traveled to St. Louis to hook up with my good buddies Charlie Weigert of CDM Fantasy Sports and Nate Ravitz of Rototimes.com and they were nice enough to take me to Busch Stadium for a pair of games against the Brewers. We were down the right field line on Saturday night during a gorg...

Week 19 Drops

We certainly understand why some owners need to cut closers and of course every cut will be allowed. However, we have taken Chad Cordero out of Chicago League 2's free agent pool as having a closer in that league at this point in the season could be an unfair advantage. Owners in Chicago League 2 wo...

In the Lifetime Standings you'll notice that co-managers are also listed because at some point teams split up and go on their own. Thus the actual Lifetime Standings is off because of the way we number this to keep track of owners and co-owners. I can look into the rest with STATS.

I don't mean to drag this subject up again, but I just wanted to look over the statistics of this league after two weeks of action to see if anything would have changed if we had instituted a 200 IP limit (half of our 400 IP regular season limit). The answer is no as all 15 teams are over that limit...
