Re: WHO DO YOU TRUST?

Yup, I'm giving serious thought to drafting only starters in the 10th to 20th best group. That way I won't have wasted so much money when the inevitable happens. I used to often go Hitter-Hitter-Pitcher, but now I will likely go 3 or possibly 4 hitters before pitchers. And as for closers, no chance ...

Re: Life After the NFBC

I agree 100% Dan. Season long is so much better than daily. And the situation may get worse. Bloody politicians always stick their nose in anything good. I don't really understand how baseball fans could be more interested in daily than season long. Night and day.

Thanks Greg. Do we know what Covid rules there will or won't be at the Bellagio. Absolutely not getting into any political discussion, but we do need to know. Us Canadians will all be vaccinated but I guess that is not relevant. And hey we now have the option of flying or driving. Yahoo !!

Re: 'Projected Stats'...My Ass

I am shocked on Juan Soto. But not on Yelich. Once he started striking out so much I figured he was not going to continue like an MVP. I have Vladdy on a bunch of teams, but as you suggested I did not pick him in the first round. I did in the 2nd round and always took him in the 3rd round. But I nev...

Re: 2022 Rule Changes? Saves?

I'm in a pool with Saves & holds and it stinks. It renders closers completely useless. Since there are more holds than saves it becomes a Holds category. I'm betting we will change right back. It makes Chad Green, Tyler Duffy and Connor Brogdon more valuable than real closers, who you have to spend ...

Re: Innings Minimum

Well I believe Dan identified a real problem. As many have pointed out it may be too late for this year. But those suggesting it is not at all a problem are being stubborn. Sure we CAN select our teams to ensure we get the 1000 innings, but it mostly takes away set up men and good 7th inning pitcher...

Re: Live 2021 Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik

Well, despite MLB trying to shoot itself in the foot, my interest is always high. But I'm Canadian and bloody well upset that it will be almost impossible for me to come to Vegas as rules get tighter and tighter. I joined 4 years ago and love the live auctions in Vegas but I have to settle for on li...

Re: Opening Day pushed?

Well said Mike. We all know there will be a season. Might start a bit late, but it will happen. And there have been a really high number of drafts already done, so guys are anxious. We are indeed all in this together, but that is a good thing. And if they try to stop me at the Canada- US border, I'l...

Re: SOLD OUT: Tuesday 8 pm ET $150 Online Auction

The first auction was a success. A lot of fun comments and teasing and Tom was solid administrating, as he always is. I won't name owners but Jose Ramirez and Juan Soto both went $50, while Acuna (43), Trout (45 ) and Betts , Tatis and Mondesi were 42 or 43. For pitching deGrom (43), Gerritt Cole (4...

Re: 5 Spots Left: Tuesday 8 pm ET $150 Online Auction

First auction of the year tonight guys. We need 6 more and then we can all try to bid on the San Diego Padres, who now own almost all of the previously available players. Or we can attempt to snag Ronald Acuna and Mookie Betts. Let's make it happen.

Well Philippe, you sound like a bitter guy. Dough and myself are making our points, and you answer with anger and sarcasm. Please don't lecture me on giving up your time. That is the way drafts work. I have no problem using auto, and no problem respecting there are different time zones. I average ab...

Re: Slow Draft Suggestions

We sure don't want to try and slow the drafts down. The most common complaint, and I am in that camp, is the picks taking too long. Here is some food for thought. Which drafts are the most popular? By that I mean which drafts fill up immediately after being announced ? The MTM fast drafts by a mile....

Re: FOMO

Yup, we do indeed chase the strikeout. I do it for sure. I guess most of us believe that if a pitcher can strike out a lot of batters, he will have success in the other categories as well. Often it is true. But not always. As for FOMO, again it is true. At least for me. I now generally pick 2 or 3 p...

Re: Win $5,000 In The NFBC Online Auction Championship

Tom, Greg, Darik...we seem to have a few guys ready for a December auction. Is it possible to set one up? Maybe on a Tuesday or Wednesday night when lives are not as busy? Maybe a cheaper one to start, say a $125 DC. December 15 or 16 (Tuesday-Wednesday) should give us enough time to round up 15 guy...

Dan, you just hit on my one and only pet peeve in the NFBC. I just can't for the life of me, understand why drafters would do that. For those that might say " he payed his money, he is entitled to use all his time" I would respond that yes he CAN use all his time, on every damn pick, but it is very ...

Thanks Dan. My under over ( 5.5) on pitchers going in the 1st round was off. Only 4 went. But still, the fantasy game has changed as we routinely see 3-6 pitchers go first round.

Have fun guys. MTM drafts are always the best. No sleeping, you gotta be ready or the Sheriff will track you down. Maybe Dan K can post after the first round. My under/over on pitchers going in the 1st round is 5.5. What a change from years past. Good luck all.

Re: The Undoing of My List

Well, this goes back to our previous discussion Dan. I agree with your analysis. So I don't bother putting Realmuto on my list at all. Because to me, he is a 6th round pick and obviously he will be long gone before I'd pick him. I just wait and grab a Nola or a Sean Murphy much later and get 80% of ...

Re: 'Helpful' Lists

Interesting. Like everybody, I make lists. But I must lie to myself because sometimes I skip over a better pitcher (or hitter) and go lower on my list. So why didn't I just have the "lower" pitcher ahead of the higher pitcher ? I don't know. But I admit I do it. And I guess a lot of people do it. Ho...

Re: Drafting Early

More on early drafting. There is an NFBC draft going on ( I am not in it) but Trout went first, then Soto. Acuna- Betts were 3-4. Not that you are arguing Dan, but it reinforces my belief that several players will see the top spot, and that getting a later 1st round pick may not be so disappointing....
