Re: Anatomy of An Auction

I say this with the highest degree of respect I can. I learned to play auction nfbc by partnering with Jeff. I have since developed my own strategies but still incorporate much of what I learned from him into my auction drafting. This post was very insightful. Jeff is a good guy and a good friend. ...

Re: Special Thanks To All Of Our First Weekend Drafters

I'll post my thanks to everyone in New York in this thread. It was a great turnout and three great days of drafts and auctions. Just like in Vegas, everyone showed up in New York on time and was ready to go. A record four auctions went great and the finale on Saturday night got done in just a click...

Re: Anatomy of An Auction

When Jeff emailed me about being his partner for this, all I can remember was thinking about the story I heard about when he purchased Brian Roberts for $19 a few years ago. I talked to Jupinka who was his partner for that league and a few other people, and all they told me was you may pull your ha...

Re: Anatomy of An Auction

Love this Dobies!!! Now all you need to do is blog about it season long! Wish my partner would let me divulge this draft but I'm on lockdown. As I'm sure you have talked about this tons with everyone, the only thing I'm curious about is whether or not this can work when the higher priced guys...

Re: Anatomy of An Auction

Hey Jeff. As you know well, I come from a completely different auction philosophy. For example, my stars and scrubs super auction team consisted of 3 first round picks (McCutchen, Abreu, Altuve) 2 stud pitchers (Harvey, Wainwright) and 11 one dollar players. But, I really like the upside to your te...

Anatomy of An Auction

Before diving into my Diamond Auction team (with Mike Edelman as my partner) I just wanted to say that for those who have never done an NFBC live auction you don't know what you are missing, especially with the new draft boards. Simply awesome!! There is nothing like the rush of an auction. It is ex...

Re: Special Thanks To All Of Our First Weekend Drafters

Greg, As always you, Tom and the rest of your team delivered! It was just absolutely fantastic between all the drafts, the conversations on the patio, the food, insulting Massatto and of course the incredible weather. For those that would rather draft at home I have one thing to say. Come out to Veg...

Re: Edwards Kings 2015 Main Event Blog

Thanks Glenn! Great seeing you too and I am sorry we did not end up in a league together this year. Don't be Wayne! You would have heard stuff the entire draft like, "I hate my team, why did I just draft this guy, I am just donating money, who put me in this league with these sharks, etc, etc"!!! :...

Speaking of Jersey, Dobies you were awesome. If I could pick a representative of Jersey it would be you. You remind me a ton of one of my best friends. Tall, commanding presence, not afraid to talk shit and get it back. Definitely gets my vote for funniest guy I met in Vegas this year. Wags ! Good ...

Got an even better Christmas present today beside draft spots in NY! A better present than the number one pick. I got Mike the Mouth in my league, taking the odds of winning the league down to a 1 in 14 shot!!
