How Do We Handle Ugueth Urbina?

Greg, I have already stated my viewpoints on this issue. It's too much of an advantage for the person with the #1 reserve pick. I'll take it one step further: All players should be available to the auction, so long as they are not currently under contract by the "other" league. If unsigned players s...

Ugueth Urbina

For anyone doing auction leagues, please read my post at the end of today's chat regarding Urbina. What do you guys think should happen here?

Live Chat For Monday Starts Now

Greg, sorry I missed the chat, but I have a slight problem with the way the Urbina situation is being handled in auction leagues. As you said, he went with the first pick (and rightfully so) in the reserve round of both LABR drafts. Doesn't this give an unfair advantage to the team picking first in ...

Draftboards for NFBC

Hey Draftboard, thanks for the link to your site--the boards look great! One question (and I think this may have been answered a few weeks ago, but I don't recall the answer): It looks like the boards only have room for 14 teams. How are you accommodating the 15th team? Custom board, or just a cardb...

Interesting AL LABR League Results

Some real shockers there, Greg. Hope you weren't the one who paid $43 for Alfonso Samuel, er, Soriano.

Looking forward to the NL update

Very true, Just Lookin.

Take away Gekko, and this board is kind of dull.

Didn't John Menna already sign up for the NFBC draft with Gene McCaffrey about a month ago?

Simple Eligibility Questions

All teams should have a legal lineup at all times to prevent collusion. It's one thing to hold an ERA or ratio lead by placing a DL'd player in your lineup. However, if a few teams are not picking up stats in ANY category, it could really throw things out of whack in the league and overall standings.

Please forgive my democratic ways, as I have not done a straight draft in some time. Thus, the concept of not having a complete roster after your first 23 players have been selected is somewhat foreign to me.

Simple Eligibility Questions

My feeling here is that teams should be required to fill out their 23 starters by the end of the 23rd round. Picks 24 through 29 should be for reserve (i.e. EXTRA) players. That said, I think the way it is set up now (ability to draft 2nd C w/ 29th pick) is incredibly generous to owners who might so...

Simple Eligibility Questions

The first FAAB period is AFTER the Yankees/Rays games in Japan. Yet, all teams are required to have legal lineups for that first subweek. How will it be possible for teams that do not have complete rosters after the initial 29 rounds to field a legal lineup for the Japanese games?

Prizes

Just so that we are all 100% clear on this: For the teams that finish in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th overall, the prize listed is "Free Entry in 2004 NFBC". Does this mean that the prize is $1250, or is it a typo and the prize is actually a free entry in NEXT year's contest? Not that I plan on finishing a...

Didn't Greg say that the prizes were in no particular order? In any event, a 16x20 snapshot of Gek is akin to the photos of Alfred E. Newman that Mad magazine used to sell--"suitable for wrapping fish."

GG - Jake's Dilemma? Upper West Side? Hmmm, let's see what league they put us in first. I wouldn't want you to get me drunk and have me reveal my draft strategy.
