Re: Trevor Bauer - can he be Cut?
Trevor Bauer was cut in only one Main Event league this week and we are keeping him in that league's free agent pool. The uncertainty of his situation going forward makes him as risky as anyone at this point in the season, so we will allow him to be picked up in this league and any league going for...

Re: 2022 Rule Changes? Saves?
Bottom line is the game is about being challenging and fun, not realistic. That's why I like SB and W as categories but others don't. I think Saves + Holds completely devalue the position, I've heard 2 x Saves + Holds are a nice compromise. I don't think we're anywhere close to that point where we h...

Re: 227 Players on the IL- Perhaps a tweak is due
Add 2 IL slots and there'll be even fewer OF's to use on the waiver wire. It won't solve the problem, it'll make it even worse.Yankees2009 wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 2:42 pmThe scarcity of waiver wire o.f.'s is bad enough in OC, and I would imagine the Main Event is exponentially worse.

Re: Team/Player Lineup Deadlines
Adding pitcher swaps on Fridays wouldn't even solve this issue. A team might have 2 2-start pitchers, 4 relievers and then 3 starters for Mon-Thur and 3 for Fri-Sun. If deGrom gets scratched on Tuesday and your Thursday starter gets pushed back to Friday, you're taking two 0's in the Mon-Thur. The o...

Re: We Are Updating/Finetuning Our FAAB Rules
Something is different this year with injured players. In 2019, myself and many others picked up Dinelson Lamet in June. He was not drafted in any Main Event that year. He made his first MLB start that year on July 4th. I also remember the same with Didi Gregorius in my league in 2019 and I'm sure ...

Re: Win $30,000 In The 2021 NFBC Auction Championship
Making these standalone auctions would be fine with me as well. If the overall prizes are cut down, it doesn't make much sense to play for a 20k league prize and 20k overall for the 2.5k auctions, I'd rather get higher league prizes but whatever you decide, I'm fine with it.

Re: Innings Minimum
Looking at projected innings pitched from a draft makes no sense. If Kershaw throws 130 IP, he'll do it in about 21 starts spread out over about 19 weeks so the other 7 weeks you'll get an extra 35 innings. Even if you go 6SP /3RP and get 60 IP from your 3 relievers, it leaves 820 IP for 6 spots ove...

I want in except my normal sleep hours are 10 PM to 5 AM ET so would need some flexibility on the overnight. Any chance we can make this a live draft on the Friday night, even for just the first 20-30 rounds and then slow draft the rest on Saturday? Either way count me in and we'll figure something ...

Re: Live 2021 Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik
1) Is baseball as quiet/dead as I'm imagining? Are you surprised how cold the Hot Stove League has been as well? 2) Are you worried about the upcoming season? Do you think it still starts on time? Are you worried that it won't finish as planned? 3) Are you holding off on your fantasy baseball plans...

Re: Live 2021 Chat With Greg, Tom & Darik
I just want to say that the new $150 NFBC Best Ball 12 are awesome and I hope more people hop in. Love being able to draft and not have to worry about setting any lineups or FAAB. Also since these are 12 teams, even the 4 hour drafts are pretty quick from what I've seen.

Re: Slow Draft Suggestions
Well Philippe, you sound like a bitter guy. Dough and myself are making our points, and you answer with anger and sarcasm. Please don't lecture me on giving up your time. That is the way drafts work. I have no problem using auto, and no problem respecting there are different time zones. I average a...

Re: Slow Draft Suggestions
I believe a vast majority like DC's as they are. Sorry you don't feel that way... Then make it an auto in green when there's enough players in the queue and an auto in yellow when there isn't. Everyone complains of slow drafters, every single year, this slight tweak which has been de used by other ...

Re: Slow Draft Suggestions
Here is what I don't like about your Auto idea... Let's say it's 11 PM. Your bedtime. You are two picks away. The fella on the clock is probably timing out. He has 20 mins left on the clock and counting down. The next drafter is on Auto. You stay up the extra 20 minutes to see who you draft. The dr...

Re: Slow Draft Suggestions
We sure don't want to try and slow the drafts down. The most common complaint, and I am in that camp, is the picks taking too long. Here is some food for thought. Which drafts are the most popular? By that I mean which drafts fill up immediately after being announced ? The MTM fast drafts by a mile...

Re: Slow Draft Suggestions
If a few picks away and really don't want to go on Auto because of roster construction, but knowing I'll be away from the draft room, I leave a note in chat explaining I will not be going on Auto but will be back at whatever o'clock to make my pick. Everybody understands. That's exactly my point. I...

Re: Slow Draft Suggestions
Pretty sure that if you are on Auto and your queue is empty, you will draft the top guy in the default list. It’s never happened to me, but that’s my understanding. Yeah that's the part that doesn't make any sense. Anyone who's nice enough to put themselves on auto to speed up the draft for everyon...

That's good to know for the queue by round. Maybe someone else can confirm? As for the 2 AM I do get the west coast thing but pausing the clock doesn't stop them from drafting. Slow Draft Suggestions
I don't know if I'm the only one on the East Coast who find this annoying but I don't understand the clock pausing only at 2 AM ET, I think Midnight ET would make a lot more sense. This basically prevents me from doing any 2 hour drafts because I have to stay up until Midnight ET or set a very long ...

Re: Opening Day pushed?
The MLBPA is having none of this of course, and they are saying full speed ahead with a 162 game season starting on time as planned. And they should say that. They took huge pay cuts to play a 60-game season last year and the owners should find a way to compensate the players if they reduce the sea...

a 40 round roto league where all your players count every week
And congrats on another good year. You are a damned good player.
Thanks, appreciate it.
I didn't remember who had the idea but I knew I read it somewhere on the boards last year and loved it.

Re: Looking For Feedback On 2021 Cutline Championship
I've never played the cutline format because of the 2 FAAB periods. I know it's only two but it's still something to worry about. I've said for awhile that the NFBC needs a true best ball format whether it's a 50 round points league where your 23 best guys count every week or a 40 round roto league ...
