Re: Clayton Kershaw = Billy Hamilton (So far...)

I'd take Kershaw 1 overall. I frequently own Andrew Miller and Dallas Keuchel as my next pitchers just because of when it is next worth it to take a pitcher. If I take a SP in first round I wouldn't again until at least round 5 but wouldn't purposely wait until those Rich Hill folks do, I don't real...

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk

Let me preface this by saying that projections are alright. If you love them, go to town on them. I respect Brian (Bjoak) and his projection system. I know he puts a lot of work into maintaining his projections. The key word in that sentence is 'his'. RotoBro, you mention Steamer and other 'credibl...

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk

I CAN NOT LOOK AWAY...Not just from Rotoboy's videos, but from Doughy's rage at Rotoboy's arguments. Snap analysis, Rotoboy's video's are like the incarnation of Doughboy's private message board channel. Questionable analysis, bordering on ranting, delivered in a very entertaining manner. That Roto...

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk

Here is the problem with saying it is impossible to project correctly so don't project. It's a prevarication. If you play this game, you project. Otherwise, you're just throwing darts at a wall. If you describe a guy you draft as high speed, low power, medium average and then draft him, weren't you...

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk

Aaand in case you wonder, player A is worth a +88 points past the average player you'd need to win the overall Rotowire online championship and player B is worth -45. Not huge but notable, and if you're eyeballing and wondering, you didn't work hard enough yet. I honestly think you're spot on. Ther...

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk

Appreciate the response, no "excitement on Schwarber" though. Just catcher adjustment. Would've been Gary Sanchez or Lucroy this year.

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk

Not sure what makes Doughboys crazier, Joey Votto taking walks or Rotoboy saying value... I'm new to the Rotoboy phenomenon, but I have to say I can't look away. He puts A LOT out there, but I have to give him props, it's pretty tough to talk into the camera for 5-7 minutes at a shot without a scri...

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk

Rotoboy, I liked your point- you just needed a Todd Zola to properly name it and articulate it. My attempt- say in round 25 you have an opportunity to take a player who has the most overall value left in the draft, but doesn't fit the team that you have drafted so far, and maybe never will. However...

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk

I also think there is a stark difference between what we're all talking about here. What I do is design a system to win across many leagues every year. I don't enjoy putting all eggs into one team basket and detailing the ups and downs of that team throughout the season. I play to win money and ackn...

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk

Also you define value by having a list of credible projection systems with realistic projections that 60-75% of which come true, attach that to a value formula based on your league setting and acquire the most dollars possible.

Re: Drafting VALUE=Less Risk

Brian, I like the video, but you're full of shit. Let me explain. First, you use the word 'value' as a valley girl uses the word 'like'. It is like (on purpose) you watched 100 fantasy podcasts before making this video. Value is everybody's own evaluations. You treat the word as if everybody has th...

Re: Come At Me Bro $250 FAAB Auction Sat Mar 18 (post analys

"You're both wrong to some degree. For example, if the best owner of an auction gets $290 worth of players, then the projections are going to say that that team is "the leader". In MOST auctions/drafts that kind of separation from the pack isn't going to mean much because of what occurs during the s...

Dude, the draft analysis stuff is ludicrous. I've already told you this. I'm not an idiot, I understand that you understand there is managing your team, injuries, FAAB, luck, etc. Throw all of that out!!! The preseason draft analysis is a complete and utter joke. They do NOT tell you who drafted be...

Re: Come At Me Bro $250 FAAB Auction Sat Mar 18 (post analys

Brian - if you are looking for some street cred, I wouldn't mention anything about having a team favored by some sort of preseason site projections. Sounds cool to some, but when I hear it, it sounds like dead money. Just a thought I'm not concerned with cred, I just prefer statistical analysis vs....
