Re: 50% Off Discount For Arizona Fall League Symposium

Greg: Signed up for this last night. I’m a First Pitch Arizona virgin, but have heard great things about this event. Already looking forward to the symposium and seeing you and a bunch of NFBC’ers out there. You can count me in for one of those NFBC Draft Champions drafts that weekend. A chance to g...

Re: Speed Slumps

So true, Dan, so true. Even got in a few Votto knocks in a thread re SBs. Nicely played. I think most owners probably feel that wins and saves are the most frustrating categories, and they’re probably right. Nothing worse than watching your starting pitcher throw a dominant gem, only to get no...

Re: Unwinding

Glad you’re back, Dan. A few quick responses: I think Kershaw is no higher than third round next year. Right now, I don’t think I’d take him there. I think Goldschmidt and Bryant are second rounders. Maybe, if he stays scorching, Goldy sneaks into the backend of Round 1, but I doubt it unless he sta...

Re: Rate stats (BA, ERA, WHIP) in standings

My two cents is that BA, ERA and WHIP should not be rounded. For some reason, it seems weird on those rare occasions where there’s a “tie” and half-points are assigned for any of these categories. I’m assuming this will be fixed at some point but am not sure.

Re: Edwards Bay Fox Pen NYC Tour 2018

Poor deGrom (and by deGrom, I mean me). Last five games, five total earned runs, 36.0 IP (four outings of 7.0 IP and one of 8.0), 44 K's....no wins! Amazing, isn’t it? Got deGrom on several teams. Guy has been a complete stud, but he’s got no margin for error. Dude gets no run support. (Thought to ...

I think you will kike him, Mike. He just looked "ready". Looks like the Braves agree. Read somewhere that he’s coming back into the rotation for a start this week. Mike How is that for a first start back, Mike? Yes...Yes...I have deGrom! He’s a keeper, Wayne. I like his stuff. I also ...

Nice scouting report. I like this kid, too. Got him on one team and am looking forward to being able to use him.

Re: Let's Compile The Latest Updates In This Thread

New FAAB/bidding tool is fantastic! I guess it's too late to add another team. Love it Leonard!! But we agree, this is the first tool we've had since the NFBC was started that really, really reduces the time you'll need to spend in free agency. I mean think of how we've been doing this in the...

Yeah for everyone with multiple teams this is a terrific new tool. We've been wanting to get this added and we're very pleased it's now out there.
Awesome addition. FAAB just got easier and quicker! Thanks! Great work, guys!

Re: Moving Players Positions After Their Game is Locked

I want to quickly second the sentiment that this is a very important issue. The ability to move players from eligible position to eligible position after they are locked into the starting lineup was a great addition last season and I really hope it can be restored quickly this season. This capabilit...

Re: Draft Champion Leagues

Nice summary, Dan. I love the DC format, as I'm usually itching to start drafting again in November. The format appeals to me because it goes deep into the player pool, retains the strategy of setting lineups, avoids the need for FAAB, and helps keep me occupied during the depths of winter. (Regardi...

Re: In the Year 2018, 25/25

Thanks Mike. Beltran having a 25/25 for three different teams slayed me. Not surprisingly, Bonds had 25/25's for two teams. Sammy Sosa was the last Cubs player. Funny in how many 25/25 seasons happened during that era :P Be great to finally meet you in Las Vegas this weekend, Mike. I get a lot of f...

Great post, Dan. I had totally forgotten that Reggie played for the Orioles. Could have sworn he went from the A's to the Yankees to the Angels. Now that is an excellent trivia question! I'm going to try it out now on a friend who's an Orioles fan - no way he gets it!

I’m sure there are very rare instances where Mr. Wait-for-News is discourteous to his league mates, drags out his pick in hopes of breaking news, and his prayers are answered. However, there probably also are multiple instances where Mr. Wait-for-News misses the breaking news because instead of bein...

Agreed. If everyone did that, drafts would take forever. Complete lack of consideration for fellow drafters if that’s what’s happening.
