By now you all should know there are four items you do NOT discuss -
1. Sex
2. Politics
3. Religion
4. Your NFBC "sleepers"
Because EVERYONE has their own opinion and normally cannot be persuaded to change.
So enough of the chit!!!

In his first eight months in office before September 11, George W. Bush was on vacation, according to the Washington Post, forty-two percent of the time.

Could they be targeted? During the Cold War the list of people accused of being “communists” was a long and illustrious one.
What we have to look forward to...a system with no checks and balances, where abuses over time are all but inevitable. Thanks GWB!!

L.A. Mayor Blindsided by Bush Announcement
AP - Thu Feb 9, 3:02 PM ET
LOS ANGELES - Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said Thursday he was blindsided by President Bush's announcement of new details on a purported 2002 hijacking plot aimed at a downtown skyscraper, and described communication with the White House as "nonexistent." "I'm amazed that the president would make this (announcement) on national TV and not inform us of these details through the appropriate channels," the mayor told The Associated Press. "I don't expect a call from the president — but somebody."

Gekko, I am guessing it is a fair assumption that you are not a GWB fan. Fair enough. More people voted for him in the last election than any other presidential election and more people voted against him as well.
We have him until 2008, so my question to you is this...who will get the Gekko seal of approval for President in '08? We are at mid-terms already so the posturing amoung the potential candidates will begin in earnest soon....

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

OK...I understand your opinion. I may not agree, but I understand.
But the question is, which candidate is the early favorite to get the Gekko Seal of Approval in '08?

Hillary could be a candidate, but I am sure the Democrats would actually nominate someone who is electable. IMHO, '08 is the Democrats election to lose. If they put up a viable candidate, they could swing Ohio, hold onto Pennsylvania and may even swing back some of the mid-western votes they lost in '04.

HILLARY'S FIRST NIGHT AS PRESIDENT,
in January 2009.....
Hillary Clinton gets elected President and is spending her
first night in the White House. She has waited so
long........
The ghost of George Washington appears, and Hillary says,
"How can I best serve my country?"
Washington says, "Never tell a lie."
"Ouch!" Says Hillary, "I don't know about that."
The next night, the ghost of Thomas Jefferson appears...
Hillary says, "How can I best serve my country?"
Jefferson says,
"Listen to the people."
"Ohhh! I really don't want to do that."
On the third night, the ghost of Abe Lincoln appears..
Hillary says, "How can I best serve my country?"
Lincoln says,
"Go to the Theater"........

SARITA, Texas - The sheriff's department closed its investigation Thursday into Dick Cheney's accidental shooting of a hunting partner and said no charges will be filed.
Gilberto San Miguel Jr., an investigator with the Sheriff's Department, interviewed Cheney at the ranch a day after the shooting . San Miguel reported that the vice president shook his hand and "told me he was there to cooperate in any way with the interview."
if it had shot someone, i have no doubt the police would interview me the day of the shooting.
there have been rumors that alcohol was involved and that cheney had a chance to sober up before giving his statements.

Notice that Cheney helped his friend. That's different than letting your friend drown in some stream in New England.

I bought into George W., thought he did a great job after 9/11, voted for him again in '04. Ever since I've regretted it. My son in law is a Marine, a "lifer", he was tired of recruiting and wanted to "get back in the game". He was told that his mission in Iraq was to train "friendlys". Since being deployed in December he hasn't seen a friendly and has succommed to the knowledge that he is just part of a military presence. Meanwhile, despite what Bush spouts to the press, our presence in Iraq INCREASES everyday instead of lessening. Cheney will soon be a footnote, but what Bush is doing is horrific. And I voted for the sombitch. Damn.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

I wonder though, do you think Kerry would be handling the situation better?
