BCS vs NFL

who got hosed the most? texas, which beat oklahoma straight up, not playing for Big 12 championship and a chance for the national title game or the new england patriots who can't get in the AFC playoffs with an 11-5 record, while the chargers have an 8-8 record. i know how the system for NFL playoffs work, but if the BCS isn't working, is the NFL system any better?



BTW, here's my cure for BCS blues



an 8 team playoff system with 6 major conferences as automatic qualifiers. each conference champion is determined by that conference by whatever means they deem appropriate.

acc

sec

big 10

big 12

pac 10



2 at large teams

a) the team with the best computer ranking NOT affiliated with one of the major conferences.

b) the team with the best computer ranking no matter what conference it's from.



all teams are restricted to 11 games total for the regular season.

the 8 teams will be seeded according to the computer rankings, the playoffs begin around the week of christmas with the second round on new years day and the final one week later.
