If you have never seen or heard the Pledge of Allegiance put this way, you are in for what I consider a treat. I was fortunate to see Mr. Skelton perform this live much later in his life, but you get the feeling it still moved him. Maybe I am a just soft hearted old patriot...

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
