Shirley Temple Black

Post by Edwards Kings » Tue Feb 11, 2014 6:31 pm

Time to pull my pants way up and show how much of a crumudgeon I am. Shirley Temple, who passed away today, was a child star whose very nature helped a nation during a time when many had lost hope. She retired from the screen relatively early (age 22), married (twice), had three children, then later in life became an ambassador...twice. She was just a picture of accomplishment and achievement.

Today we have Lindsay Lohan and Miley Cyrus. We have evolved in so many ways, but taste, tact and class are as much of the bygone era as black and white films.

Goodbye Shirley. I wish we missed you more.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
