Number of teams for 2006

Greg, signups for the original three cities are 40% ahead of last year's pace; even if you cut that growth in half and toss in 2-3 lges in FL, you're looking at demand for 390-405 spots.

Will you go this big or keep to a more conservative growth plan in '06?

Furthermore,

Have you decided where the extra money from more entrants will go. I for one would like to see the top 10 overall receive something, and 2nd and 3rd place league prizes to be bumped up, maybe to 2500 and 1250 respectively.

Will you go this big or keep to a more conservative growth plan in '06? The prize money is based on 330 teams, but since we have four cities involved and would LOVE to get full leagues in each city, I've put in the rules that we could go as high as 375 (25 leagues). That's definitely as high as we would go and if I had full leagues lower than that I'd definitely cut the signups off. I'm not trying to get greedy this year as modest growth in the main event is fine by me as I think we'll again add more auction leagues and Ultimate Leagues in 2006.

As stated in the rules, anything over 330 will increase the prize structure by 75 percent of the entry fees. I will likely bolster second through eighth overall if we do that and possibly add a ninth and 10th overall prize as each additional league adds $6,000 to the prize structure (plus $8,000 for the league prizes).

I agree, the early response has been great and I haven't even started advertising the event yet. But we'll take the first 330-375, fill the leagues up evenly if we can and call it a year. Moderate growth makes the most sense to me.

We bumped up second place in each league this year from $1750 to $2250. As I stated above, I'd like to improve 2nd through 10th overall with this, while leaving the $100,000 top prize alone. I'd like to improve second overall, especially. If we do that, however, we can't improve league prizes any more than we have right now and I'm not sure everyone is in favor of improving 3rd place league money.

I'm interested in feedback on all of that and if the growth arrives I'll gladly redistribute the prize money where everyone wants it.

Sure, NOW you want to improve overall 2nd place :D ....I agree that 2nd place league money should be 2250 and third place should be 1250. Its an easier sell for the wife to say that you got your money back for finishing third.
